Stands at 88% on RottenTomatoes. Being called the best sequel since the original one.I'm shocked, to say the least. Still gotta wait till it's release obviously, but I was always expecting that the regular hardcore Halloween fans would love it but critics would hate it for being another cliche slasher.

Well, a solid filmmaker behind the camera was a sign of hope.

"Loaded with gore " - guess they aren't taking the less is more approach of the original. But yeah, sounds promising.

like Get Out and other Blumhouse films. Weinstein Co. V 2.0 Does that mean we have a slew of shitty and unwanted Hellraiser and Children Of The Corn sequels coming our way? 🤔

Didn't this happen for the most recent Blair Witch where it was like 90% on Rotten Tomatoes - then was like a 5.4 or something on IMDB and got crapped on by the masses. Personally I loved the film and though it was well done. Have high hopes for this Halloween. One of those old school fans where if it's anything F13th, Halloween, NOES, Hellraiser, TCM, Childs Play, etc - I'm in can't get enough of them despite how bad some of them may be.......

If it's getting positivity from critics, let's hope the same for us fans!

Fingers crossed for a scene of Danny McBride inviting James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and other Hollywood douchebags to a $20,000 a plate fund raiser to battle white privilege only to have Michael brutally butcher all of them before any of them grasp the irony and hypocrisy of said fund raiser.

Uh oh. Just read it's a movie with a message about the long lasting effects of violence. A heavy handed anti violent content message in a slasher movie is the type of idiocy liberal critics would adore. Let's hope it doesn't go that route.

I think you're reading a bit too much into that review. Just because it is exploring the effects of violence, doesn't mean its trying to spin into an anti-violence film. It's just the centerpiece of Laurie's character and how she survived Michael's first attack and the effects and PTSD of that have hardened her and made her self-efficient in survival.

Some people will find a way to complain on whatever bullshit political grounds they make up for themselves. Just as a lot of people will see this movie having decided they love it or hate before hand.

That's great news. Hopefully the movie will actually live up to those early critical plaudits. Have we finally been given the ever elusive truly 'great' sequel to Halloween?
