Not the worst in the series, decent enough popcorn flick for me. A few laughs and some action kept me interested. Would be enough for me. Has Munn still some parts in the movie?

So far the critics hasn't been kind to it. Most complaining about to much comedy and crappy CGI. Will probably only be remembered for all the controversy swirling around it. Will wait for streaming. Damn. I was anticipating seeing this film. I loved Predator. I was a little wary when I heard there was a boy in it, but I still had hopes it might be okay. I don't now what it is some recent action films that feel they need to be comedies too. Sometimes it works - as with Deadpool, but in my opinion, usually it doesn't. Obviously as here, and with Thor Ragnarok. Why can't action films take themselves seriously?

I thought Thor Ragnarok was hilarious though so might not be worth cinema dollars for you.

Terrible film. It's an R rated action comedy; Shane Black made a self-aware Predator spoof. At one point there are a bunch of motorcycles and a character says, "Head to the choppers!"

More watchable than the AVP films, but I feel it's easily the weakest of the standalone Predator films. It's so sloppily edited and clearly marked by studio interference. Boyd Holbrook (who was fine in Logan) lacks the presence of Arnold, Danny Glover and Adrien Brody from the earlier films. The rest of the cast do what they can, but they're wasted by the sloppy script. The whole climactic shootout in the forest is so haphazardly edited and darkly lit that you can't make out what's going on. There were a couple funny moments and a fun bit where the predator breaks out from the lab, but overall, a huge disappointment. It was disappointing as a Predator and a Shane Black film.
BTW, what was the point of bringing back Jake Busey (son of Gary) to play the son of the character played by his father in Predator 2 and do nothing with him?

The predator was designed as an alien Wile E Coyote for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Was never meant to exist outside of that. They could get a sequel out of the concept but that was pretty much the extent of it. They ran the concept into the ground by the end of AvP 2.

I wish they would stop putting comedians in Horror/Sci-fi films.

Yup, there is too much (bad) comedy.
The rest is pretty bad too.

$50 million total domestic box office, #10 in it's fourth weekend with under $1M. Including this weekend's #1 movie Venom, all the first six movies in this weekend's top ten will out gross The Predator domestically- if each hasn't already done so.
