Sorry but I have to disagree with him on this one. Had the MCU specifically not hired actors simply for being gay then I would have agreed with him. But as far as I know that has never happened in an MCU movie and accusing the MCU of being biased against gay actors (in nicer words) simply because there aren't any gay actors currently employed with them is unfair. This quote in particular: “That we can’t have someone in a Marvel movie who’s gay in real life and plays some super hero." Is not a fair assessment, as the MCU doesn't (as far as I know) have a rule that prioritizes straight actors over LGBTQ ones. Maybe they do but until we have solid proof it's just not a fair accusation. I have no issues with gay actors playing straight characters in the same way I have no issues with straight actors playing gay characters (or gay actors playing gay characters). But attacking a film franchise simply because they have no gay actors is actually pretty darn sexist.

It'll come in time. Deadpool 2 was nonchalant about it and I don't think people raised a ruckus about it?

Cause most gay male actors are closeted, at least one of the Avengers is gay. Renner, Cooper, Vin closeted. Bi RDJ , Rudd.

I kinda don't like it when an actor in one arena criticizes another arena of movies or TV, even if they're right.
He might consider this: GOTG is ending! Probably already ended for him. And MCU is another potential source of employment for him. One that could potentially be even more lucrative than GOTG has been for him. I could see MCU hiring Kit Harrington playing someone in an MCU movie.
Is he shooting himself in the foot by talking bad about a potential employer? Would they hire him after this?

Didn't Ian Mckellen out Lee Pace?
Isn't it sad when actors talk about crap they don't know about?

What is there to applaud though? he said nothing other than there should be more gay actors in leading roles...ok but thats only valid if Marvel had a gay actor and a straight one equally well equipped to play one of these characters and they chose the straight guy because and they did this multiple times, I mean who would you replace in their line ups with a gay actor, and why other than because they are gay?
Also this wasn't about LGBTQ characters but actors, and no they shouldn't have made Superman gay, Batman is fine so long as you are aware and willing to put up with the stupid "heheh knew it all along" jokes about Batman and his obsession of dressing up young boys in tights, because you know people, their dickheads, but Superman has a defining relationship which is with Lois Lane you don't fuck with that, Batman doesn't have this so he can be straight, gay, bi, he can be whatever it doesn't matter really.
But back to the original point has there been any issue with Marvel turning down a gay actor for a major superhero role? If not this is a stupid and bullshit, should we have more LGBTQ actors in lead roles? yes, when they are right for the roles, if they aren't then no, giving people jobs they don't deserve because they prefer their sexual partners have the same equipment as themselves is fucking moronic imo, give them jobs based on if they are right for the role everything else is a bunch of wanky bullshit imo.
