Doubt this will happen. If it does, then WB just murdered its DC franchise. Well, all the ones not featuring Gal Gadot.

Oh lord here comes Fant4stic all over again. Maybe if the movie was good people would've been easier on the race swap of Human Torch. I think the hardcore fans would still be shouting about it. The general the public would've been easier if FF movie if were good. I'm still iffy on that, but I think that's right.
To the general public the Human Torch is nothing, this is freaking Superman. Even the general public would have a problem with him played by a black actor. For a Michael B Jordan Superman movie to be well received and box office hit it would have to be the Citizen Kane of cbm.

I don't even think it would even if it was the Citizen Kane of CBMs. People would look at the visuals before the story. Especially in a CBM. And unless it has rewatchablity, only our community will pay to see it multiple times. I think for a Michael B. Jordan Superman to work, they'd have to firmly establish multiple Earths and the Elseworlds. A Jordan Superman would no doubt be Earth 23, right?

Lets not all pretend like we all of a sudden care about the Superman character. The ONLY thing people care about is how he looks. Nobody cares that Man of Steel was a piece of shit. Nobody cares that Cavill can't act. Just as long as he looks the part, right? Cavill is a perfectly solid actor.

The MCU have a huge hit with BP so WB think blackwashing Superman is an awesome idea??! Seriously....you couldn't make this shit up.

He's simply not right for the part, and it's not because of his race. He's more of a Tony Stark. Confident, arrogant, charming. That's why he was actually the perfect fit for Johnny Storm, and he was hardly the problem with that film. We need a Clark Kent too. Daniel Kaluuya would be a better choice. If he was younger I would've chosen Michael Ealy. Now I'd choose Brandon Michael Hall, if DC decides to go that route. But I'd actually prefer they just replace Superman with Steel and retire Superman for a bit. Or maybe throw in some Timothee Chalamet as Superboy lol. Armie Hammer is a good choice but I want to see him play Booster Gold. Maybe Matthew Goode, Matt Bomer, or Jensen Ackles. As for Michael B. Jordan, you haven't seen Creed then (?) Yes and he's amazing in it. But he just doesn't have the Superman/Clark Kent type of vibe. That's of course only my opinion. He might get the part and completely blow my mind-hole.

Wait... your mind has a hole? It will if Michael B. Jordan becomes the Best. Superman. Ever. First of all, they wont cast him. The outcry against it will be too great. WB isn't THAT brave. Which is too bad because Jordan COULD/MIGHT be the greatest yet(?). We'll never know.
Second of all, even if they DID cast him, AND he really was the best Superman, people would STILL poo poo him... just because he's black. Its a double edged sword. I have a friend who's already exclaimed that he would never see that movie.
So there's no point even talking about it. It wont happen. No studio head is brave enough. There's probably a list of eligible young male actors who they have to consider when negotiations come around and Jordans on that list. That's all this is.
There's nothing inherently "white" about the Superman story. A black man can embody the "ideals of truth, justice and the American way" just as well as a white man. But people cant get over the race issue.

Who seriously believes this is true, and not just part of WB and Cavill's pissing contest over his contract?
That said, there are at least two black Supermen from other universes, so I'd only be concerned if Clark Kent was being changed. One is Calvin Ellis, basically Super Obama, and the other is Val-Zod. Who says they can't appear down the line, WB is already doing that alternate universe Joker.

deadline.com/2018/09/superman-henry-cavill-supergirl-warner-bros-1202463120/Read the article The word has been out that Warner Bros. has been mulling a completely different direction with its Superman canon for some time, even considering casting Michael B. Jordan in the role down the road. But at the present moment a Supergirl movie is the studio’s priority as Deadline exclusively broke back in August. Oren Uziel is working on the Supergirl script. RUBBISH. WB, make up your mind. You're crazy...

That'd be a huge mistake. Will Smith was asked in the past and had the common sense to turn it down, you'd hope that Michael B Jordon would do the same especially considering the flack Fantastic Four already got for that reason. There's plenty of black characters they could cast him as. See I saw the news in another website and they implied was that Michael B. Jordan approached WB to play Superman not the other way around. Anyway with the Flash in the scene they can do it with Calvin Ellis which is a Superman from an alternative Earth and happens to be the president of the United States. That sounds more interesting:

Of course JJ Abrams is somehow involved in the shittiest idea I’ve ever heard.
