Pretty decent psychological horror flick, the first single story feature to be made by Hammer rival Amicus. (It was a follow-up to "Dr. Terrors' House of Horrors".) Excellent widescreen photography, and a simply superb cast, with Peter Cushing delivering a tour de force performance in the lead.

I remember it very well. Watched it as a kid, it frightened the crap out of me!

I'm not sure I ever heard of it. Is that the one where the skeleton is in a dress and the man throws a chair at it? I remember that from the opening credits of Ernest Scared Stupid which took clips from a lot of B&W movies.

Lots of "POV" shots seen through the skull's eyes, if I remember correctly. And I think there's a scene at the very end where the skull appears to be suspended on a string, wobbling a bit back and forth.

I give it 6 out of 10, not really Amicus best of works, but still its okay.
I remember there was this really great moment were the Cushing character starts to get this bizarre hallucinogenic dream, somewhere in the middle of the movie.
