Something new (?) and how does it work ?
"Old threads bumped by this user will start at the bottom. (experimental)"
"Do not let this member follow me or my activities."
cannot find just what this accomplishes
"Do not let this member start new conversations with me."
This one refers to Private Messages ?

The first one does indeed moved the bumped thread to the bottom of the first page. Handy for users who are prone to go on thread bumping binges.
The second is a mystery.
The third does seem to apply to PMs only.

The first is something I made to alleviate "mass gravedigs" --a flurry of bumping of old posts-- by people you have blocked (or even if you haven't). Basically, if a thread older than two weeks is bumped by that user, it will start at the bottom of the page rather than take up space where you're most likely to see it. It's not an ideal solution but it can mitigate some frustration.
The second feature blocks people from adding themselves to your followers list. You can view how that system works in your Profile underneath "Following". It's a list of people you've followed and it displays whenever they post something or like a post.
The third blocks PMs from that user from being sent to you.

bartlesby, what happens if you add the 'don't let follow' to a poster after they've already started following you?

bartlesby , what happens if you add the 'don't let follow' to a poster after they've already started following you? It kicks them off the list.

bartlesby thanks for the info... Basically the "can't follow" means they have to use a more complicated method of following someone around … It at least slows the stalkers down a tad !
This whole "follow" thing seems strange... some people have what seems like the whole board population on their lists and others have none and follow no-one and yet are among the most "popular" and prolific posters. But then, this whole being able to talk to all sorts of people in all sorts of places about everything under (and over) the sun is kinda strange, eh ?
