I'm liking this season more than I've liked the past few previous ones. I was a little confused though after seeing the same actors and actresses playing two or three different people in one season. Has AHS always done that? Yeah, the seasons have never crossed over before, so the same actors playing different roles is jarring and weird. There was no reason why someone else couldn't have played Sarah Paulson's evil character from the first few episodes. That's what I was thinking.

I didn't get into the premiere at all. I'm liking this season more than I've liked the past few previous ones. I was a little confused though after seeing the same actors and actresses playing two or three different people in one season. Has AHS always done that? I love this season, mostly because I loved Murder House and Coven...so it's two of my favorites in one season....but yeah I DO agree that I don't like the entire thing about one actor playing several roles it just seems lazy.

Is this supposed to be the last season? As long as you watched season 1 you will enjoy it. I believe it got renewed for two more seasons.

I just saw episode 6. Look, nobody gets more excited than me when I watch a crossover. However, I don't think this show should've done it. Back in 2011, anthology shows were rare. When they announced that this would be one, it felt refreshing (as well as surprising, because they announced at the end of the 1st season). It was an opportunity to tell stories with pre-planned endings and give the same actors the challenge of playing different characters. It arguably started the new trend of anthology shows. Then, some characters from ASYLUM appeared in FREAK SHOW. I felt betrayed. The show had lost one of its most unique traits. Now it's gotten worse. This season doesn't just have cameos; it brings back dead characters to life (negating the impact of their deaths) and it continues storylines that were already wrapped up. In fact, while a lot of shows struggle to choose the right fate for every character at the end, I thought MURDER HOUSE did one of the best jobs in the history of TV... and now they've ruined it. If they wanted to redeem TATE, they could've at least made that the focus of the episode. It felt like an insulting afterthought. How will VIOLET's parents react to her forgiveness? And where was HAYDEN? I'm liking this season more than I've liked the past few previous ones. I was a little confused though after seeing the same actors and actresses playing two or three different people in one season. Has AHS always done that? Your 3rd sentence implies that you haven't seen other seasons, but your 1st sentence implies that you have. Which one is it? I don't like the entire thing about one actor playing several roles it just seems lazy. It's not lazy. They obviously didn't decide there would be crossovers when they chose the anthology format... and now they've written themselves into a corner.

I've finished the season. It felt like a 10-episode fan fiction, except it was made by the actual cast and crew. Not only was this all an excuse to re-write the bad things that happened to the characters in MURDER HOUSE and COVEN; they used time travel to re-write the bad things that happened to the characters of this season as well. Why? That's not how dramatic fiction works.

I've watched Murder House, Asylum, Coven the Circus one - I've forgotten it's name, and Hotel. I stopped watching after that until this season, hence my question. Regarding anthology series, I loved AMC's The Terror. I hope they continue the high standard that The Terror had in regards to acting and story, especially.
