I think if they choose to keep the character they would need to give themselves a hell of a buffer and find some squeaky clean actress with a shit load of good will on her side, as otherwise really the risk of causing a stink maybe too big, and Chloe is only important to that 1 iteration of the mythos and can be replaced, hell she was an original character for the show herself, maybe that would be a more interesting approach each generation creates their own best firend/confidante for Clark as a kid who is malleable to serve that function and provide a voice/representation to the modern world compared to the stead fast nature of Clark/Superman through the ages.

Yeah. I know Chloe wasn’t originally in the Superman comic books and she was created for the show but the problem is they have mentioned her in ‘Supergirl’ at least three or four times now and to not have her appear in a ‘Superman’ show would look like a big plot-hole. They could say Chloe left and she gets replaced by another original character or Lana or Pete Ross but they can’t use Jimmy Olsen or Cat Grant ‘cause they have already been in ‘Supergirl.’ I would not mind seeing a different version of Lana Lang or Pete Ross ‘cause neither have been mentioned in ‘Supergirl’ yet and Lana Lang is one of Superman’s most well-known side characters and she was in the comic books along with ‘Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman’, ‘Smallville’ and ‘Superman 3’ where she was played by the same actress who played Clark’s Mum in ‘Smallville’ and knowing CW they like their love triangles.
There has long been a belief among some big Lana fans the only reason Clark ended up with Lois was ‘cause she had Kryptonite in her body and if she were able to get that removed Clark would break up with Lois in a heartbeat and go back to Lana. I personally don’t think that would happen but I can see why some fans believe that. With all the ‘Smallville’ references they have had in ‘Supergirl’ I’m kinda disappointed they didn’t have Clark say to Oliver in the recent crossover episode they have a Green Arrow and he is a friend of his on that earth ‘cause that would have been a fun way to acknowledge the Green Arrow’s importance in ‘Smallville’ since he was in five seasons of that show and had ties to a lot of the Superman characters going to the same school as Lex, Lionel being behind the death of his parents and Queen Industries being Lexcorp’s competition which is something taken from the comic books.
I like the idea of going with an older Superman for a TV show though ‘cause they can skip over lots of the things we have already seen countless times before like his origin story and his feud with Lex and introduce a lot of other villains like Braniac, Atomic Skull, Bizarro, Maxima, Parasite, Darksied, Lobo, Atlas, The Eradicator, Massacre, Mongul, Dominus, Bloodsport and Imperiex that haven’t been used on screen before or haven’t been used much and with there looking to be no plans to have Darkseid in the DCEU they might as well use him on TV again but give us a proper version that looks like him unlike the version we got in the final season of ‘Smallville.’

No. As silly as it sounds since they only just hired the actress I don't think Lois Lane is going to return to the show anytime soon and that might have just been a one off appearance and we will never see the actress playing her again 'cause it was confirmed recently Superman won't be returning to 'Supergirl' again this season so don't expect him to play any part in the Lex Luthor storyline. It is possible Lois might appear on her own though and they could have her giving Kara a message from Superman but I think it is unlikely now. The next Superman character we will most likely see is Perry White.
