RobertoExactly!!! that's a great example of that Death Metal type of "music" that I cannot stand (it's pretty much the only music I greatly dislike!) as if I got to label music in terms of what's closest to heaven and hell it's pretty clear cut in my mind... -Heaven = Classical music -hell = Death Metal "music" that Death Metal type of crap just screams negativity (it's the closest your going to get to hell in terms of music) where as Classical on the other hand has more of a calming/peaceful etc effect. basically those two are polar opposites of each other. hence, the Heaven/hell comparison. p.s. normally I would not really judge someone for the type of music they like but when it comes to death metal type of music I would be a bit more cautious of that type of person to say the least as I just can't see how a decent/stable person would actually find that kind of "music" appealing. it's like what's going on inside of a person like that to like that kind of so-called 'music'? ; hell, it makes me wonder if that's the kind of "music" those school shooter types like(?).

The gold standard of male/female voice in classical music in my mind (i.e. Luciano Pavarotti/Renee Fleming). Too noisy and unintelligible. I recognize the name Renee Fleming though. Her vocals were incredible in The Lord of the Rings. Does she have any more music sung like that? Rather than obnoxious unmelodic yodeling.

Roberto I think the one I posted conveys more emotional punch (and shows off her great vocal power etc) as that one from LOTR is good enough, as I have definitely heard worse from her, but I can find better. I wish I had that (the YouTube one I posted above) in studio recording as the only one I have a studio recording of features Sutherland instead of Fleming and, while it's good, it's not as good. but anyways, since I already posted it in another part of the forums, here is another song I like from Renee Fleming which I made from the lossless source... www.datafilehost.com/d/aa4a1f20 (it seems to be a bit slow on loading at the moment so give it a few minutes. it's basically "Rusalka Silver moon") ; it's a Opus file encoded at 64kbps(has a 75kbps actual bit rate though. it's 6min2sec in duration). I know the user 'Toasted Cheese' likes that song and I suspect, given what you said, it will be better for you then the YouTube one I posted and not to mention it's got higher sound quality to since it was made from a proper audio source. but other songs she sings that are great... Ave Maria(Bach-Gounod/Schubert etc)/O Mio Babbino Caro etc. p.s. I have a solid portion of her CD's in lossless format so I can make my own lossy files (i.e. AAC/MP3/Opus etc). with that said, some of her songs fall flat because they lack emotion (it's not her fault but the song brings her down) but when you get a solid song, she can't be beat in terms of power/voice tone combo.
NOTE: here is the same song you heard in the YouTube video except it's Sutherland instead of Fleming singing, but this is the CD version so sound quality is higher... www.datafilehost.com/d/5edbb330 ; it's good, but I wish I could find the same song but with Fleming singing as her voice tone is more appealing.
