If somebody said they had judged the bible based on reading "the odd line here and there", would you think that was a good idea or bad idea? What is your question? It was the sentence with one of these (?) at the end of it 😉

It was the sentence with one of these (?) at the end of it 😉 Silly. I want to know what you are driving at. It seemed irrelevant to anything that had gone before.

Graham was asking whether you would think it was a good thing or not for someone to judge the bible without actually reading hardly any of it.

Graham was asking whether you would think it was a good thing or not for someone to judge the bible without actually reading hardly any of it. Obviously not. But how is that relevant to anything I said? It seemed to be an answer to me but the "quote" field was empty which is puzzling.

I'm sorry, I thought it was clear. My question was, if somebody said they had judged the bible based on reading "the odd line here and there", would you think that was a good idea or bad idea? I'm going to assume that you're asking if it's a good idea to judge the Bible based on just skimming through it, or just reading parts and pieces. No, it's not a good idea. You should never do that with any book. You could get the wrong idea of what a book is trying to say just by opening it to the wrong part. Let's say that I decided to read "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," so that I can find out if I like it or not. Let's say that instead of reading it I just decide to open it to a random page and read from there. So I open it to a random page, and it just happens to be the part where the kid is stuck in the pipe. What would my opinion be? It would be that the book is awful. And it's an unfair judgement, because I was unfortunate to open it up to that specific page. The same applies to all books. You can't judge a whole book based on just a few parts of it.

It was hardly a "few random moments", when family were watching in the same house, and a small one at that. Added to which a TV show is not the Bible, it's much more easily judged.

If you now want to change your story and pretend that you watched a reasonable cross section, go ahead. Just say you were wrong in what you said originally, and you'd like to change it. I find the bible very easy to judge. 1) It endorses slavery. 2) The one who claims to be a moral authority has murdered children or ordered them murdered (and in large numbers!) on multiple occasions. That's really all I need to judge it. FYI, Father Ted never murdered any children on the show. He didn't even steal any money - it was just resting in his account.

Just say you were wrong in what you said originally, and you'd like to change it. You just have to be right and everyone wrong. 😭 Once again, you've based opinion on less than substantial evidence to justify it, you've been called out on it, and rather admit you may be barking up the wrong tree or that your perspective may not entirely be 100% accurate, you just bend over backwards to avoid admitting any kind of error. Oh, and no such person as awhina posted on imdb v1. I guess you're just another crazy old coot from New Zealand. Dang, that country has more kooks than Phoenix, Arizona.

No, I am changing nothing. I heard enough to know I didn't want to attention. Play the "exact words" game all you like, as you did on IMDB v 1, but I am not playing. You claimed to have judged the show based on "a few minutes". I pointed out that this is a terrible basis to judge a show. Then you claimed that it wasn't just a few random moments. So... we have a careless statement, which makes you look foolish. You respond by being incapable of admitting any error, no matter how slight. In order to avoid it you change what you said, and then refuse to admit that you've changed it. Gee, Ada, it's nice to see you still haven't changed. Still the same small person you've always been.

Uh huh. Well, you and she are remarkably alike. And given your history of lying about who you really are...

Gee, Ada, it's nice to see you still haven't changed. Still the same small person you've always been. That person is not Ada Graham, I am her. She is an imposter and has been impersonating me on the original IMDB boards for the last 18 months using various usernames, most recently "Melanie000". I am sorry to say she is a female member of my family with the initials CH, and lives in a different part of New Zealand to me. I can no longer allow her to say such horrid and Unchristian things on this board as she has on the original IMDB boards. I hope that sets the record straight for eveyone Reported, supes. Don't you realise that your insult against my sister (you've obviously doxed her in order to get her name and location) gave your identityaway?
