I saw a completist list of horror anthology movies a while back..there are several hundred of them in existence, which I wouldn't have thought. I guess a lot of those are pretty dire. Still, always fun to watch.
Top 10 pick.. kwaidan (1964-jap) dead of night (1945-uk) tales of terror (1962) black sabbath (1963-it) three... extremes (2004-jap) tales from the crypt (1972-uk) dr. terrors house of horrors (1965-uk) torture garden (1967-uk) tale of tales (2015-it) twice told tales (1963)

I've either not watched very many in their entirely or not watched many for which I've enjoyed all the segments.
Specific segments I enjoyed include:
"Amelia" [Trilogy of Terror] "The Bishop of Battle" [Nightmares] "Blind Alleys" [Tales from the Crypt] "Box" [Three Extremes] "The Box" [XX] "Lover's Vow" [Tales from the Darkside: The Movie] "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" [Twilight Zone: The Movie] "Quitters, Inc." [Cat's Eye] "The Raft" [Creepshow 2]

I seem to love the old British horror anthologies—not exactly sure why.
Dead of Night (1945)—a masterpiece. The mirror segment really can’t be bettered for cinematic ghost stories, but the Christmas party and the dummy segment come close (and the latter was ripped off for nearly every dummy-centered horror plot to follow).
Three Cases of Murder (1955)—“You Killed Elizabeth” is sub-par Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and “Lord Mountdrago” is routine spooky stuff, but “The Picture” is an absolute masterpiece, perhaps the best horror short film of them all. It’s mesmerizing, evocative, and scary as anything. Absolutely brilliant stuff, directed by one of the few female British directors of the ‘50s, the great Wendy Toye. It’s one I can’t stop recommending; I saw it as a kid and was terrified by it, so it permanently found a home in my memory.

Check out the British company, Amicus's horror anthologies like Dr. Terror's House of Horrors, The House that Dripped Blood, Tales From The Crypt, Asylum, Vault of Horror and From Beyond the Grave. They feature the iconic duo of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing and many other great British actors.
Also see:
Black Sabbath
Trilogy of Terror - a 70's made-for-tv series with Karen Black
Cat's Eye - tales based on Stephen King stories Body Bags - features cameos by many actors and horror icons. Mark Hamill has a good segment.
Tales From the Hood - set in an urban setting with Afro-American characters Three Extremes - A Korean anthology with some unsettling tales. Trick R' Treat

House that Dripped Blood was decent and From Beyond the Grave i found disappointing while Dr Terrors was ok. What about Creepshow and Tales from the Darkside the movie?

Oh yeah I saw Three Cases of Murder--the picture one did stand out. There are some more obscure ones out there. Screams of a Winter Night and Alien Zone are both "regional US" horror anthologies. The last one has a very creepy opening story conclusion with kids in scary masks. The stories are kind of lame in a sense but still worth a watch for completists. The last story seems to be a modest reworking of an Eerie story called "Deep Ruby."
Then there is amid 80s UK one-unfortunately I forgot the name--it has a wraparound set in New York where someone gets a video tape of a horror movie and plays it. One story involves a Punch doll, and the last one involves faeries. Can't remember it being good, but there's another one for those who can't get enough of them (if only someone can remember the name). I remembered:
Screamtime 1986

Hard to go wrong with the Amicus anthologies. Especially since many of them are based on stories from the incredible EC Comics line of horror comics. Of course I love all the classics most of which have already been named.
Creepshow Kwaidan Dead of Night etc...
So I recommend the bizarre have to see it to believe it Night Train to Terror. God and Satan swapping stories on a train with the very universe in the balance. Also tits, torture, misogyny, demons, gore and the worlds worst train band doing their smash hit "Everybody But you" Or maybe it's called "Dance with Me". Did I say smash hit? I meant smashed shit.
Watch it if you dare. Explain it if you can.

The others like most anthologies have some good and not so good segments. I can usually find at least one segment I enjoy in any horror anthology. Have you seen Night Train to Terror?

I have a soft spot for the old British (Amicus etc) anthologies. Dead Of Night is a stone cold classic. This years Ghost Stories was pretty good
