Not bad. It's good to go. Out. With dignity.

Bit underwhelming to say the least, which is disappointing because the Captain Marvel trailer was pretty underwhelming as well. A couple observations, Magneto's helmet seems to change in every movie and I'm actually really digging the black design to it. And Magneto and Prof X are clearly immortal as they haven't aged since First Class. The least they could have done is age them up with CGI or makeup. The first X-Men came out in 2000, and Dark Phoenix takes place in the 1990s, they technically they should look like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen now.

Not good...not good at all unfortunately, I can honestly say I've never been so disinterested in an X-Men trailer.
Nothing here looked to be anything new. In a series that's already becoming stale and drawn out at this point, this does it no favours.
Same flashbacks with Jean Grey, same boring Mystique in scenes where they can't be bothered to apply makeup, Jean Grey going over to Magneto's side, the Professor X and Magneto conflict for the umpteenth time where different X-Men swap sides, another X-Men dead possibly because of Phoenix going out of control again etc.
We could have got the Savage Land, Mr. Sinister, Omega Red, Mojo World, Interstellar Travel, Starjammers, the Shi'ar and much more.
But no it's just the same thing all the time. I don't think this will do very well.

Looks interesting enough I guess, but nothing really seems new and exciting. I still can't take Sophia Turner seriously. Costumes still look horrible. Can't believe that's the best costumes they can come up with after near 2 decades of making these movies
Don't understand why they didn't include Psylocke. She was the most interesting new character in Apocalypse.
The only thing that really got my attention was Chastain.
Of all the recent superhero movie trailers we've seen, this excites me the least.

Honestly the trailer was just as underwhelming as the Captain Marvel trailer.

So this what we're doing out here with our free time? Remaking X3? It's like they only listened to the "Take the Cure plot out" people.

well shit. I was hoping for more. Maybe the next few trailers tv spots will be better. I really do hope it's not going to be X3 all over again but looks like it might. Both this and Captain Marvel trailer are on par with my initial enthusiasm. Both were alright but nothing to write home about.

If we are generous and say Professor X was 21 when he got his Doctorate in First Class in 1962 (Cuban Missile Crisis) then he would be born in 1941. Lets also be generous that the movie takes place in 1990. So Professor x should be 49/50. Eric was a teenager during WW2 Death Camps. Lets be generous and say he was 13 in the last year of the war 1945. He would've been born in 1932. So Magneto should be 58/59 in the movie. That's well over the line for each actor. Unless we are going with the theory that the X gene/x factor slows all mutant aging to a degree.

Looks like garbage and as people feared just more of the same old same old. Mystique really should have just died in the last movie. So sick of seeing Jennifer Lawrence pretend to be an X-Man. Also, if I even watch this film it'll be comical watching Sophie Turner try to act out a human emotion.

Trailer looks better than the last Xmen, was worried with the director. Anyways at least a good Marvel film for a change.

go look at the comments for the Trailer. Just skimming them I say people asking for Wolverine/Hugh Jackman every 3rd comment.

I still take my stance. this movie should not have been made.
the only xmen movie, I am interested in is new mutants.
this movieverse ended with the Logan. anything strongly tied to it is a no no.

Intriguing. Looks better shot than Apocalypse. Seems they are holding back a lot on the big action shots and alien invasion which is a good thing, sick of trailers giving the whole movie away early on. The shot of the X-Men in Grants uniforms on the street is my highlight. Only negative is JLaw and Hoult being in human form which I hope is only in this first trailer to showcase the actors marketability.
And its defitinly better than Captain Marvel, that trailer was horrible.

X-Men may have released in 2000 but the story was set in the “not too distant future”.

But no it's just the same thing all the time. I don't think this will do very well. It’s called a bait and switch, my friend. And you’re misremembering the flashback in X3 because there was no car accident that killed her parents or anything thing like that, it was just Xavier and Erik meeting Jean. It didn’t develop her character in anyway. And why are you saying that Jean is siding with Magneto when he calls her evil? It’s Jessica Chastain’s character who Jean sides with according to interviews and they seem to kick Magneto’s ass judging from the EW photos. It seems that everyone except Scott and Xavier sides with Magneto to stop Jean. Everyone is pissed at Xavier, not just Magneto. Even Mystique and Beast in the trailer criticized him. All likely for the same thing. It doesn’t look it’s about the Xavier and Magneto’s conflict from previous films. Honestly, the Dark Knight had much stronger similarities with Batman 89. X-Men: The Last Stand came out 12 years old is rather forgettable. I doubt the almost vague similarities this has with that movie is going to affects it’s box office.

Looks pretty solid albeit hardly fresh or different. Not half the disaster people were expecting.
I liked to see the old characters back; cinematography looks fine and natural.
They should cut back on the cheesy rock songs.

Don't know what people are expecting from a Dark phoenix story. The teaser is there to set the mood and tone of the story which it achieved. Charles lies to Jean about how her parents died. Jean resents this, becomes unstable and goes to Magneto for help. Chastains character is acting like Mastermind trying to sway her. The Xmen within themselves have conflict over how Charles treated Jean, especially that scene between Beast and Prof X. That's all in the trailer without the following ''wow'' stuff:
No space mission scenes, no quicksilver scene, no Genosha, no aliens or spaceships (which was present in the Russian leaked trailer), no reveal of Chastains character, no power displays from Cyclops or Storm.
I think the 2nd trailer will show a lot more of these aspects.
And whoever thinks this is a rehash of X3 is lying and being dishonest.
