I just started watching Barry. I knew I would like it, but I am really entertained by it. I love how they end each episode, both with wit and emotional hook.
Anybody here watches it? What did you think?
I like seeing Hader take on more serious and sexier roles too.

There shouldn't be a second season, but since there is I hope it will be a s great as the first.

A show which is unique in that it makes us question, Like Barry- whether he can really ever redeem himself and how deluded that might be. Unlike Dexter Morgan or Walter White, we meet Barry wghile hes entrenched within his lifestyle and theres an interesting catch 22 as posed by fuches as well. I personally think Barrys doomed as well.

I eventually came back to liking him again but there were a few episodes when I didnt like him and didnt want him to succeed/get away. but with Barry, he is just damn too likable. Doesnt that bother you?

Doesnt that bother you? not really because they show pretty clearly those moments are few and fleeting as he is completely desensitized to normal human behavior. Also the two kills he made which are pretty major did there job as far s his likability goes as well. The Writers are smart in that they aren't drawing things out at all, but rather getting to the point and letting you decide for yourself whether you view his actions a certain way. A lesser show would draw out the whole dynamic between him and his friend as well.

He's a great & complex character that by the finale is pert near irredeemable depending on how they start the second season.

Ie: an watcher might go well gee he killed this dude now he might be done and still be able to live normally etc. Barry himself feels a similiar way although deep down really is way too deluded to realize how untrue that is.

Normally hate when drama and comedy are mixed. Like Bill Hader. Like the subject matter. Have S1. Watched the first episode... haven't gone back yet.

I even felt a little bit of a desire for him to kill Janice, but not as much (since her characters works SO WELL in the show especially with Harry Winkler, that must be my favorite tv pairing in a long time, great chemistry) so while rationally i recognize he is a horrible person, emotionally i am still on his side. which i hate because i hate that media often fetishize murders and gun violence and would love to feel just contempt for him. but i dont. sucks. might be bill hader though, as i find him very attractive.

I do like this show, my only complaint is that Bill Hader, who is very funny, is not that funny on this show. I guess he wants to spread his wings into drama, like they all do, eventually.
