Looks good. I love the bright, almost washed out colors and I love seeing Aquaman in his traditional costume. I love the interplay between him and Mera and the action looks really good.

I am not sure what I think yet but I will give the movie a chance when it comes out on Foxtel here. Some fans haven't been too impressed over the way the character looks in 'Justice League' and this movie 'cause he looks different than he does in the comic books but that seems to be happening with a lot of adaptions lately and some of them haven't been that bad and have been well received but others like Jared Leto as the Joker and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor have been heavily criticised. Where do you stand on Aquaman's new look stargazer and do you like what you have seen of this character more than the 'Smallville' version or did you like the 'Smallville' version more?

Damn that looks epic, I would think it would make at least 700mil but it's got stiff competition in that time of the year. Only negative was that they tried too hard to make Aquaman cool and funny

Where do you stand on Aquaman's new look stargazer and do you like what you have seen of this character more than the 'Smallville' version or did you like the 'Smallville' version more? I'm ambivalent. I've given a fair amount of thought how to make Aquaman relevant to audiences, because it's been a challenge essentially since the character's been around; no one knows what to do with him, which has lead to some convoluted stories, none of which create a definitive take on the character. I'm still not sure what that should be either; the long haired, grumpy bearded guy has been done before with Arthur, but it didn't last particularly long. They tried giving him a hook, literally. He's often the butt of everyone's jokes about DC, just look at every other episode of Robot Chicken, but I feel like that's where he deserves a reinvention to make him more relevant. I decidedly did not care for the Smallville version of Aquaman (or Cyborg... or "Impulse"....) This trailer looks mildly interesting. The cinematography certainly looks so much better than previous entries into the DCEU, but that said I have to admit the only DCEU movie I've actually seen is Man of Steel. I've seen extensive reviews and discussions/descriptions of the other movies to get the gist, and I do want to see Wonder Woman, I just haven't gotten around to it. I really don't have any interest in seeing Dawn of Justice or Justice League though. His suit doesn't look so great though; too shiny and too CGI looking. Ditto Black Manta, at least to a degree; there's something not quite real looking to it. I think in general it might not be a bad idea for DC to take a page out of Marvel comics playbook (or even their own) and look at retiring Arthur and replacing him with a new generation; and my preference would be that replacement be a woman, like Mera or some new character, maybe Mera and Arthur's daughter. Expound on the idea of him or her being able to communicate sea life and make them an outright telepath; and a good, powerful one at that. There's also a great deal of potential in an underwater society that deserves better exploration too, but they always seem to make members of that society very arrogant and developmentally regressed. It's like watching Klingons underwater. Re-reading Crisis on Infinite Earths, I was reminded that at one point in DC's comic chronological history, Atlantis was one of the most advanced civilizations on Earth before it sank; and had a powerful sorcerer as it's protector. That makes me think that a stronger emphasis on magic as being part of that society could be a very intriguing element.

People used to have a hard time taking Batman seriously until Tim Burton made his movie. The same can happen with Aquaman and I hope this does it.

Maybe mainstream audiences, but the character had returned to his less campy roots in the comics long before the movie came out.
On the other hand, very few, if anyone, has ever truly taken Aquaman seriously; and even the writers never knew what to do with him.

Does he have a theme song? Aquaman sounds like a hero that would have one. Aquaman, Aquaman, I live under the sea, swimming with the fishes and fighting evil squids and sharks. Come and join me and we will have an adventure with Eco The Dolphin and Sebastian the Crab.
