Surprised nobody had made a thread for this one yet. Anybody excited for it? I'm sure it'll be better than The Amazing Spider-man movies but I've still got my apprehensions about it.

Nobody made a thread for this because they've either too enamored over the DCEU or because they know it's not worth it, because the DC fans will shoot down any proper discussion about the Marvel side of things.

anyways.
I have Spider-Man fatigue at the moment, so I'm not really looking forward to it, but am hoping it's good.
also I didn't love the trailers, but maybe a new one might get me interested.

I don't think it's Spider-Man fatigue per se. It's more of a reboot fatigue, if anything. The Spider-Man franchise right now feels like a video game you spend hours investing on, only to have it start all over again from level 1 by accident. You love the video game, but playing through it all over again would feel tedious.

I'm still looking forward to this, though. It's just that the Spider-Man franchise could have been something more by now.

The CGI eyes are laughably stupid. I don't give a shit what anyone says. It was a stupid decision. And I can't believe people are giving it a pass. We're not giving anything a pass. Most of us just happen to disagree with you on this point.

This movie looks very generic to me... I'll give it the benefit of the doubt though. It's Spider-Man.

I'll see it but I always resented the fact that rebooted the series after Spider-man 3. They should have just made Spider-man 4.
Then of course they began to build up the TASM series only to have it end abruptly. I'm sure this new one will be good but I'm not as excited for them anymore.

Honestly, I remember not being too excited about Spider-Man 4. Nothing about Spider-Man 4 got me excited, especially having the Vulture as the villain. Yes, Vulture is the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming. But I think the main appeal about that movie is the fact that it's set in the MCU. But yeah, because of my lack of interest in Spider-Man 4, I didn't care when the news came up that Sony is reboot the Spider-Man franchise. Despite the fact that I was shocked that they were rebooting it so soon.

That's one of the reasons, but I still believe that they could have done something to keep me excited. Like, I don't know? Save Eddie Brock for the next movie so that they could develop the character a bit further, and set up Carnage towards the end for Spider-Man and Venom to battle. But nope. Sam Raimi wanted Vulture instead.

I get that. But there are more Venom fans out there than Vulture fans, so there is a good amount of people displeased.

Venom should have just been teased in Spider-man 3 for him to be the sole main villain in Spider-man 4.
They've asked him and he was probably the most popular Spider-man villain.

That, and I think we could all do without seeing Peter cheat on MJ resulting in her leaving him with their newborn child. Seriously, wtf, Raimi?
