What new kid? I don't think they introduced anybody new?
I liked it but there's so much going on! It's going to be tough to keep up with.
I'm really looking forward to the parent flashback episode, even though I don't think all of the younger actors can pull off playing their "parents" as teens. Particularly KJ (Archie) playing teenage Fred...

Particularly KJ (Archie) playing teenage Fred... I meant Dilton Doiley, who it seems is a recurring character despite me not remembering a single scene he's ever been in. Why is he suddenly Jug's friend? Why was he at Jug's house? And why did he draw Jug the map? Am I missing something? Maybe I need to rewatch the episode because I don't get it. Doiley was a bit of an aid to Jughead back in season 1. He was a bit of a suspect re: Jason and dealt with Jughead a bit. He also gave Archie a gun last season. I think he went to Jughead now because Jug did seem interested in whatever they were doing. And the kid seemed afraid and Jug does have a reputation now of solving everyoneβs problems lol.

I have a hard time following it also. I have zero recollection of this kid that Archie is accused of killing, so I have no context for the whole story line. As for the final scene I just had to SMH. I thought the reason that Sabrina was on Netflix was because Riverdale was not going to get into the supernatural junk but I guess they are.
I enjoyed the first season but at this point I am mostly watching for the eye candy.

I think this show would work better if it weren't released week to week. So much happens and I always end up forgetting about it by the time the next episode comes around. I'm starting to get so annoyed with these characters. At least the guys are kinda hot.

Archie is such a fucking idiot. Bring on the Veronica and Reggie pairing because Archie is too stupid to function.
I also hate Ethel. Actually I hate every character that actress plays.
I do wish they'd address some of the questions they left open at the end of last season though. Whatever happened with Penelope Blossom's brothel? Or Cliffords weird twin? Are the Serpents still homeless?
Parent flashback episode in two weeks!

I think the show has just gone too far over the top. It's just gotten silly. Like I said, I'm staying for the eye candy

That was probably one of my favourite episodes ever, even if it was the height of cringe at times.
I can buy that in the nineties, a mostly pre-internet era, a handful of kids got into this DnD-esque game while in detention with nothing else to do. It's difficult to believe that essentially everyone in a high school would wind up playing this today though. They're really stretching with that.
Anthony Michael Hall playing the principal was pretty great, it's a shame they didn't/couldn't get Molly to do a cameo of some sort.
Watching "Kevin" kiss a girl shocked me for a second, haha. I totally forgot Kevin and Josie's parents were an item, even in present day.
The Blossom storyline...that family is so messed up. Holy crap.

Yeah the more I think about it, the more I think I hate this game storyline. This isn't 1983 Stranger Things. This isn't a group of 12 year olds. This...this is just stupid. It doesn't work and it deserves proper hate. No more sugar coating. Somewhere there is group of 17 year olds playing D&D in 2018. But it's not these 17 year olds. Right?! I mean, Cheryl is into this? C'mon, writers. That's just silly. And they haven't told us anything. It's not enough for Alice to tell Betty "the game sucks you in" or whatever. It's lazy. They need to wrap this and the prison storyline up by midseason. It's just too crazy to believe. And I'm not sure I understand how the Principal died. Why did he just drink some weird blue beverage from some random chalice? Unless we're supposed to believe he was forced to drink it...

It seems that the three main plots of this season are finally being connected. Which is nice. Still unbelievable, but whatever. And I still wish they'd address last seasons loose ends, but hopefully with time...
lol @ Archie trying to break out by running away in broad daylight. Oh Archie, sweet dumbass Archie. Also, no one could figure out a way to gently help Archie into the bunker? It looks like he was pushed down!
Et tu, Joaquin?! I was actually really excited for his return but he has been a complete disappointment.
I dunno how to feel about Jughead right now, but it's clear Cole Sprouse is digging this.
Pretty much everything Veronica said this episode made me cringe. I hope we get to see more of Maddog though.
Nobody reacting to Reggie revealing his dad hit him made me really sad. It shouldn't be a throwaway line.
Hermione finally calling out Hiram was the best! Honestly, why is he so obsessed with Archie?
Anyway, it's clear the entire town's water supply has been contaminated with something gnarly.
Overall the episode felt more driven, pretty much of all of the supporting cast was actually used in a meaningful way, and even though everything was completely ridiculous and unbelievable it was still less messy than the first few episodes.

Also I don't know how I feel about Jughead using Cheryl as his own personal enforcer. Deadeye? Really? Okay I guess. That's weird but okay. Yeah, that scene was gross. I'm kinda over everyone and everything being a serpent. They don't even seem to do anything anymore, so whats the point? Cheryl especially is so, so interesting without that stuff. Her whole storyline (or lack of it) this season has been a disservice.

I liked the Scream callback. Not sure if it's trying to tell us something about FP or if it's just meant to be a fun homage. Archie's disguise being nothing but a baseball cap is my favourite thing though. As is Hiram's "I'm not a 16 year old nerd!" and Penelope's "Call me Aunty." The writing was genuinely kinda funny at times, as opposed to being cringy funny. And hallelujah for the end of the Archie prison storyline! Thank goodness that's over. So glad. Also fuck Sheriff Minnetta, that guy has been so bland I'm glad he's gone. Joaquin I wish Kevin got proper closure. I'll miss his eyes. My favourite thing about Veronica is how she comes up with schemes and then immediately tells her dad about them. She does this a lot. Maybe she is as stupid as Archie and the two deserve each other. But I'm guessing Veronica and Reggie are going to be a thing soon. The coroner is creepy and probably involved with this G&G shit. Probably his dad as well (why does he have "personal files" of peoples death reports...is that common with coroners?) Not sure how the parents managed to keep everything a secret for 20 years when they're so quick to throw each other under the bridge at the first chance lol Jughead was trying to call Betty at the end and Alice rejected his call. I don't think he's gone for good, probably just helping Archie out for a bit. Doubt Jug would abandon Betty or the Serpents.

Archie continues to be a dumbass.
Lilli looked really pretty in this episode. She always does, but I dunno. She was extra cute. And Betty's voiceovers were great lol
I'm glad Claudius showed up finally. Doesn't make up for no Cheryl but at least they didn't completely fuck off with his storyline.
I'm most interested in meeting Jughead's mom and sister than anything else tbh.
I hate Ethel so much.
Next week is the midseason finale (it's not mid-season yet but whatever...) At least the promo shows that Cheryl/Toni/Josie et all will actually be in it.

Warning: a lot of complaining and nitpicking ahead. 1. Why were Laurie, Jughead, and Archie eating outside in the dark? 2. Archie is a cheating bastard and I hate him. Veronica has proven her love for Archie time and time again. And how does he repay her? With a wandering eye and by kissing the first girl he sees. 3.The old lady in town says, "Town wasn't always like this..." Who's writing this crap? 4. Why is the Speakeasy open during the day? I thought it was an invite-only exclusive night club. 5. And what's with Veronica's sudden change of heart on her Father? 6. Finally, don't get me started on this Betty in prison storyline. It's literally the worst. The one thing I did like in this episode was Betty fighting for her man. Even if it was a ruse to get to the infirmary, she really loves Jug. And I love that. When Betty gets out I want to see The Sisters of Quiet Mercy be shut down. Not just implied. I want to watch it be bulldozed with Ethel and that evil nun lady inside.

And from that tragedy, Veronica and Reggie's love will blossom. #Veggie and #Bughead will lead us back to sanity.

After watching the mid-season finale (I hate that that is even a thing) I have concluded that this show has gone so insanely over the top that there is no reason to watch it other than the massive amount of eye candy.
