I think this is a really good movie with great dialogue. But what the hell is the cornfield and why does James Earl Jones disappear into it? Is this a field that just feels like giving people Second Chances?

It’s where the children of the corn hold their rituals.

Why analyze a perfect dream ?
It would be like dismantling a butterfly to figure out how it can fly and then expecting it to fly away.
It doesn't matter what it "means" … just enjoy it for what it is.
Have been to the actual field. It IS magic ! Dunno why. Just IS.

Is this a field that just feels like giving people Second Chances? It's a magical experience. There is no other explanation than that. Nor does there need to be - the point of the film is not "what if this happened for this reason", but "what if this happened". If you need an explanation tell yourself that god decided to perform a miracle, or that the stars lined up just right, or that a hole opened up in time. Why it happened doesn't matter to the people who made the film.

Feel bad for Joe Jackson. His situation was caused by incredibly greedy management.
Kind of like what's happening in America today

Yes.
It's called drugs. The writer used lots of them.
You're welcome.
