It's the main thing I've been doing for the past week+. Awesome game. The level of detail they put into the world is just incredible. Quite possibly the most visually stunning game ever made. Ok dumbass. Yep there’s definitely something wrong with your brain.

I am sure I would like it more than the GTA series but not more than the Mafia series as the Mafia series is hands down my #1 game series for that type of game, especially the first game or two.
but since I have not bothered with consoles after the XBox360 generation I likely won't be playing Red Dead Redemption 2. although if it comes to the PC I may eventually play it assuming it's requirements are not too steep as I am confident my GPU would handle it well enough but my CPU might be so-so unless it's requirements are similar to GTA5 in which case my PC will easily handle that.
for the record... I have played the first two games of the Red Dead series though.
p.s. but I play shooter games on the PC as a general rule as they are far more enjoyable due to mouse+keyboard as it's just easier to track stuff on screen than a consoles analog stick which I just flat out can't use well enough to enjoy a typical shooter game. the only reason I could play the first two Red Dead games is because of that lock-on feature which does a large portion of the aiming for you which, while it makes the game playable for someone like myself, it does take some of the fun out of it since your only fine tuning the aim a little.

I plan on getting it once I’m tired of BO4, which may be sooner rather than later.

Finished the game today. Truly a wonderful experience I've had the last couple of weeks. I definitely think this is the greatest game ever made and it will be very hard for it to be surpassed. Life just feels so empty now after finishing it though. Anyone else finished it?

Right now I'm going through and trying to tie up any loose ends I've had in the side missions as well as going for some of the perfect pelts and other things. I guess we have the online multiplayer to look forward to. I agree, I've never had a story draw me in like this one did. They did a good job making us bond with all these characters and now that its over we find ourselves kind of missing them. Do you have any thoughts on what the next one should be? I'm kind of hoping that it's a prequel to this one and we see how the gang started. Maybe it can end when they run from Blackwater.

The story can wait.

I've mainly been working on my compendium and hunting for perfect pelts and legendary animals. All those dreamcatchers etc will be a pain to find though. So hard to spot. Yeah. They've released it yesterday for the ultimate edition players, with everyone else getting it over the next few days. Looking forward to it, but the single player is still keeping me very much occupied, so I wouldn't have minded an even longer wait for the Online. Exactly. They did an amazing job. I wouldn't have thought it possible to make a protagonist even more likeable than John Marston but they proved me very wrong with Arthur. He is now my favourite video game character of all time. Characters like Charles, Sadie, Hosea, Pearson etc were wonderful and very likeable as well. They really did an incredible job with pretty much the whole cast.
Yeah, I think another prequel seems like the best idea. Couldn't imagine a new game without some of these characters returning, and the best way to do that is to go back in the past. That's a good idea for the ending yeah. Perhaps the protagonist can be a young Uncle? Or maybe a totally brand new character, as long as he/she associates with the younger characters from the first 2 games. If they do a straight sequel to RDR2 though, or some DLC, Sadie as the protagonist about her adventures in south america would be cool to see. Charles would also be a great protag, about his journey to Canada, but he seems like too much of a sweet guy to be a protagonist of such a violent game, what with his respect for life and the land etc.

I've probably clocked over 100 hours so far. Still quite a lot left to do too. Nah it's nice to do a mixture of everything. Bit of story, bit of hunting/crafting, bit of story etc

I'm not gonna lie, I used youtube to find them. I found one dinosaur bone on my own while hunting a legendary animal. Some of them as well as some of the carvings are in places I would never have dreamed of going. Some were in some pretty scary places where I was afraid my horse and I were going to fall to our deaths. I will probably do the same for the dream catchers. I still have more legendary fish and other animals to get as well as perfect carcasses for the museum. I started the online today setting up my character and doing the first few steps. I've been reading that the things you need to buy are very expensive compared to story mode. In a way I'm not looking forward to starting over at zero cash. I don't expect everything handed to me, but I also don't want to spend an insane amount of time trying to earn cash only to have it ruined by a griefer. That's one of the things that got old on GTA online.

About 30% thru the story. Digging the bell out of it. I find myself getting lost in many side missions depending on where I am in the map.

I can't count the number of times I was out and about to do one thing and got sidetracked by 2 or 3 random situations that came up.

I *finally* got it.
It can be a little frustrating. For instance, some woman was inprisoned in a carriage so I went to help her. I shot her captors but couldn't figure out how to open the carriage so suddenly the NPCs (including her) think I'm the kidnapper and I get shot to death along with a bounty on my head. That's what I get for being nice...
I also learned the hard way to manually save my spots in case my horse dies.

I was pretty pissed about that. Nothing I could do because my last manual save had been a few missions ago. Now I save frequently.
