I think it will be great. The critics won’t want to admit it, and the public may be reluctant, but I think it will be cool.

never heard of Shazam before (except the word) but it's a really neat and fresh concept. If the script is right and puts focus ob story, character development and message then this could be a stand out CBM.

It's just Big with superpowers which is the approach I would had chosen. Ironically, I don't even like Big.

To me it's one of those movies that can be absolutely great or awful. No middle ground. I'll hope for the great.

My main exposure to him is from the DCAU. He’s a member of the Justice League. He can match it with Superman in battle. But his secret is that he’s a kid. His portrayal in the League is that he comes across as a heroic, responsible person but sometimes his immaturity is revealed. He can be effective in a team dynamic.

They should’ve stuck with having Black Adam as the villain.

They should’ve stuck with having Black Adam as the villain. True but that will make a sequel interesting.

So is there a scene where he dances on a big floorboard piano in FAO Schwartz?

But that approach is exactly what I DONT like about it. Its going to be a goofy movie when it could be an awesome movie! It could be so much more, and instead they're just going to go for giggles and aw shucks.
Aquaman might fail, maybe, I don't know... but at least its going for awesome! You can tell from looking at the trailers. They're shooting for gold. Shazam! is shooting for... okay; when it could be SUPERMAN!

In the mean time how many shitty movies has the Rock made during that time?! LOL You could erase Baywatch, Rampage and Skyscraper and made Black Adam instead!

I think Brad Peyton (San Andreas, Rampage) would be a fine director. He knows how to work with Johnson and has experience with ludicrous action scenes. Plus I've just begun watching his Netflix series Frontier (incidentally starring Jason Momoa) and it's not only surprisingly good but bloody as hell.

In the trailer, the school that Billy Batson goes to is Fawcett Central. That's a cool nod to Fawcett Comics.

So DC sues Fawcett because of Captain Marvel's similarity to Superman, DC eventually wins, it takes a financial toll on Fawcett, Fawcett closes, DC obtain the Capt Marvel/Shazam character and make a film as part of a universe that contains Superman. Has DCEU just ripped off themselves?
(Oh, and yes, it does look pretty promising.)
