SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR (2014) 4/5.
Another excellent American neo-noir film that straddles the genres of action and crime. The screenplay for the film was written by Frank Miller, who based it in part upon his own graphic novels. The music was by Carl Thiel and Robert Rodriguez, it was produced by Aaron Kaufman, Stephen L'Heureux, Sergei Bespalov, Alexander Rodnyansky, Mark Manuel and Robert Rodriguez and it was directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez.
Like its predecessor, it is an anthology film that consists of multiple short stories. JUST ANOTHER SATURDAY NIGHT deals with Marv bringing to justice four rich frat boys for burning a homeless man alive in an alley. In THE LONG BAD NIGHT, Johnny - the illegitimate son of Senator Roark - takes his father on in a game of poker, to teach him a lesson. In A DAME TO KILL FOR, years before THE BIG FAT KILL, Dwight McCarthy attempts to put his violent past behind him, leading a life of complete sobriety, until he receives an unexpected phone call from his former lover, Ava Lord. Finally, in NANCY'S LAST DANCE, four years after THAT YELLOW BASTARD, Nancy Callahan is obsessed with getting revenge on Senator Roark for having driven Hartigan to kill himself.
It stars Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Powers Boothe, Rosario Dawson, Eva Green, Ray Liotta, Christopher Lloyd, Josh Brolin, Christopher Meloni, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Stacy Keach, Dennis Haysbert and Lady Gaga.

I didn't hate it but just couldn't find it as enjoyable as the first one. The 'A DAME TO KILL FOR' segment is excellent. Eva Green is pitch perfect casting and nearly steals the film.

It was bested by the original.
This often happens with sequels, with one or two famous exceptions.
