Heyy,
Them! (1954) 9/10 - I’ve always been a fan of ‘50s horror/sci-fi films, this is simply a classic. This is awesome movie. It’s a actually lots of fun. And wow, the use of colour for the opening title sequence, since it’s a b/w film. 1950s is easily the best decade for sci-fi.
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) 5.5/10 (rewatch) - I haven't seen this film in the last 4 years and I remember I found it a solid on first viewing, but after reading mixed reviews, so I decided to give it another viewing what my REAL opinion is about this film. I even wondered myself if my opinion would change after seeing it, do I will love it more or dislike. Like I said, I liked it on first viewing, but after seeing it twice.. it's very ok. Why I liked it less? Because there are a couple with absolutely no chemistry, and yet, he was going to save her until the end. Not much interesting at all. The plot is pretty strange and I felt something unpleasant watching it. Some of the shots are awesome, but the cinematography is kind of bland looking. The masks are pretty cool though. It has a few good scenes, good special effects, good ending, but the film is not really good at all. I had no problem with this film is not featuring Michael Myers, but they shouldn’t put the title 'Halloween III' which for obvious reason it got lots of hate, even when if it was called 'Season of the Witch', my opinion still wouldn't change. I can say that I'm actually surprised some people said it's the best movie of the franchise or even saying it's great. I've wanted to like it more, but it's not good at all. Not terrible either. Just very ok. There is no one thing that could have been better if they made the plot such stupid. So, on the end, I gave it a 5.5 out of 10.
Paranormal Activity (2007) 10/10 (rewatch) - Paranormal Activity is what I call a scary movie. In my opinion, this is one of the most terrifying paranormal movies ever. Even I know most people don’t seem to agree that, but this movie is very original. I mean this is not another Hollywood’s non-stop horror remake/reboot wave. This movie feels like a real footage which made it even scarier. Even some of my friends believed it’s real, back in 2009. I remember I refused to see the trailer until the end because it was too scary. Some of the effect are actually fine, even on a small budget. It’s well acted considering it is full of unknowns. I always like Katie, she was doing good jobs. They made it one of the best jump-scares ever. I really couldn’t breathe until he appears and then jump. The ending is very creepy! I’ve always been a fan of the franchise except the last one, it’s well-directed and written. The storyline deeply impressed me. Agree or disagree, this is one of the scariest paranormal movies ever made. It’s awesome, disturbingly good, memorable and insane. I really want to see it on the big screen.
Halloween (2018) 10/10 - Halloween (2018) is a true horror sequel to the original classic and they finally did it right considering it is a slasher film. They made it just for enjoyment, but it’s an excellent film on many levels. I had blast watching the film. It is so gory, it is disturbing, brutal and bloody without any nudity and sex scenes. I really loved how events from the original are referred to this one. I hell loved the death kills, it was bloody gore fun. I also loved Laurie Strode, she’s much different than from the original, but she’s still awesome and badass in it. Her daughter who plays Judy Greer was okay, but her granddaughter who plays Andi Matichak was good and cute girl. She was obviously re-imagining of Laurie Strode. Michael Myers was much scarier and creepier in it, and I loved that mask he wore. It has really excellent atmosphere and cinematography. There is a lot of body counts, bloody awesome death kills and amazing special effects. In my book, this is third best horror film of 2018 since A Quiet Place and Hereditary and the second best Halloween film since the original. I would definitely like to they make for another Halloween movie in 2038 (60 years later lol).
Valhall Rising (2009) 6.5/10
Foxfire (1996) 9.5/10 - This is an excellent film! What an emotional ending. If you are a fan of The Craft (1996), you’ll might enjoy it as well. Angelina Jolie’s nude scene though, that was amazing.
