Happy 105th Birthday Norman Lloyd!!! Born on November 8, 1914 in Jersey City, New Jersey Thanks for everything, so far... Multitalanted American actor, director and producer. Having had a long theatre career Lloyd made his acing debut 1942, though he had been in Hollywood already in 1938 to make Orson Welles' version of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness", but that movie never materialized. Lloyd was marginally hurt by the infamous red scare blacklist, thanks to his friend Alfred Hitchcock, who saved him by making him associate producer of his popular TV series, and also directing a few episodes. Wan't to know more? Norman Lloyd Wikipedia is a good place to start. Some examples from his career: Making his Hollywood acting debut in Hitchcock's Saboteur 1942, with The Statue of Liberty. Renoir's The Southerner 1945, with J. Carroll Naish and a "headless" actor. Hitchcock's Spellbound 1945, with Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck The Green Years 1946 Scene of the Crime 1949, with Van Johnson The troubadour Apollo in The Flame and the Arrow 1950 Associate producer of Alfred Hitchcock Presents TV series between 1957 and 1962 on 184 episodes, directing a few and acting in a few others, like this pic here acting against himself in episode Design for Loving 1958. He was also associate producer on The Alfred Hitchcock Hour between 1962 and 1965. St. Elsewhere TV-series between 1982 and 1988 as Dr. Daniel Auschlander. Dead Poets Society 1989 as the conservative headmaster Mr Nolan. Discussing with director Martin Scorcese during The Age of Innocence 1993 In Her Shoes 2005, with Cameron Diaz A Place for Heroes 2014 So far Norman Lloyd has acted as producer on 39 television productions, directed 22 television productions, and acted in 69 movies and television productions. First time printed in 1990.

STILL WORKING!!!
I most recently saw him in In Her Shoes (2005). My wife wanted to watch it and it turned out to be a VERY good movie.
I clearly remember his role in Saint Elsewhere. He saw (and we all felt) that Denzel Washington was a star of the future while watching this series.
William Daniels is now 91 and working some too. Both Lloyd and Daniels have had very long marriages...rare for such actors.

Norman Lloyd : Proof positive that great actors are not "relegated" to character roles as if those are only for lesser actors .. some of them shine in those "background" roles and are a huge part of what make a movie . again !

I consider him Wilfred Hyde-White's serious brother.
I was quite surprised to hear he was still kicking around 2 years ago.

Holy mama mia, it's good to see a survivor of the Mercury days still with us! He's been in a little of everything and always made it better for his presence--even the most mediocre Night Gallery episode was elevated by his performance. He's never seemed to give any role anything less than his actorly best, always a great pleasure to watch.

Happy 105th Birthday to the ever amazing Norman Lloyd. You are one for the history books, sir, still working into your 100s. Thanks so much for all you have given us. And thanks for the memories. May you have a wonderful day.
Norman below at the 2017 World Series when he was 102!! The last time he attended was in 1926 when Babe Ruth played! Link: Norman at the World Series

Happy Birthday Norman Lloyd! Hey, tele, I'm guessing here, but I think these pictures are from the following eras: Hitchcock's Saboteur (1942); Dead Poet's Society (1989); and In Her Shoes (2005).
LOL! Your guess is as good as mine, since I didn't put them together, I found it on the net like that, glued together, and thought it would be a nice and appropriate pic to "borrow" and post here...so I shouldn't take any credit.
