First thing that came to mind was Coming To America, but then I remembered ... it was McDowell's. I actually like the fries at McDonalds better, but I'd never tell Mister McDowell that.

As soon as I saw the title, I thought of Big Daddy (even though I haven't seen that movie in 10+ years), and although it's been 20-ish years since I last watched it, I'm pretty sure Richie Rich has a McDonalds in his house or something. I think one of his friends sais something like 'Cool, you have a McDonalds in your house!'. That could be wrong though, it's been a long, long time. IZON you are completely correct with Big Daddy and Richie Rich. In Big Daddy (1999) Adam Sandler complains about the breakfast meal ending at 10.30am and Richie Rich definitely has his own McDonalds in his home. Speaking of McDowells, Malcolm McDowell eats a burger (big mac?) meal in Time After Time (1979). In the Woody Allen Film Sleeper (1973), Allen buys a burger at a McDonalds restaurant and eats it. This movie is set in the future and you can see a sign that says McDonalds has sold some crazy big amount of burgers. Redford and Hoffman have a scene at McDonalds in All the President's Men (1976). Redford would repeat this in his excellent directorial effort Ordinary People (1980). The Pink Panther (2006) sees Steve Martin's Clouseau eat a Mcdonalds hamburger outside in the street. I cant remember if he is inside a restaurant at all. Australian Heath Ledger film Candy (2006) has a scene in a McDonalds restaurant. Keanu Reeves meets with another alien at one in The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008). If you count The Fifth element which shows two cops going through a drive through then you have to also count 13 Hours (2016).

That distribinging film Compliance. I think it was based on true events that happened at McDonalds and several other fast food chains, but it was not McDonalds in the film.

And of course, the flick that which OBVIOUSLY INSPIRED the thread: "The Founder". I remember 1999's Big Daddy with Adam Sandler. The McDonald's was the scene where what Sandler, who adopted a kid, with the kid, had wanted BREAKFAST, but now it was LUNCH, because both parties or Sandler's kid had to pee LOL! Joey L.Adams and a pre-Apatow flicks Leslie Mann(already married to Judd before still before Judd had his OWN blockbuster hits!) were the female leads, and occasional Sandler costar Josh Mostel (whatever HAPPENED to that guy?) as well.

THE SANTA CLAUS: the movie, with John Lithgow as the baddie - not the Tim Allen movie. There is a scene where the little boy (Joe) who lives on the streets and is friend to both Santa and Patch, is staring at all the people inside the warm McD's, eating burgers and fries, while he stands out in the snow. Very good movie, by the way. Haven't seen it in a long time due to my VHS player dying on me.

I believe Ordinary People had a scene in a McDonald's. Or is it Burger King? It's one of the two.

Strange question I know, but I am curious which films (and TV episodes) have a scene or scenes set at McDonald's. For example, Big Daddy (1999) features a brief scene set at McDonald's. Can you people name some others? I hope this kind of random trivia thread is acceptable on this board. Jaws.

That distribinging film Compliance. Oh gosh yes, Compliance! So fascinating to watch, Ann Dowd is so good, it is her performance makes such an unbelievable story (even though it was based on fact) compelling to watch to the end. This movie was so unexpected, it is the pearl hidden in a stack of plastic beads, movie wise!
