As Woody Leonhard notes, Microsoft security patches are up. My employer pushed the November rollup to my Windows 7 computer today. There were no apparent issues, but I'm not installing anything on my home system yet.

FYI. I installed Windows 7 Rollup KB4467107 on my home system tonight. I've haven't noticed any ill effects.

Yeah, but I think short of any major upgrade level of stuff, which tends to be more of a Windows 10 thing (as there have been some show stopper issues occasionally for some people), chances are the vast majority of people can patch immediately and be fine.
hell, one can always roll-back a patch if something does act up with the whole System Restore built into Windows. I would imagine those on Windows 7 are probably less likely to have any major issues vs Windows 10 but Windows 10 seems to have most of it's big issues on the major upgrades which happen twice a year.

Although Windows 10 updates do seem to have more issues, Windows 7 patches are not always trouble-free. March 2018 patches were a disaster - I waited until the end of the month to install, followed Microsoft's own guidance, and still ended up having to uninstall the March patches before I could install the April updates. I should have done what my employer did and not install any March patches at all. It's safest to install after Woody raises the MS-DEFCON rating. Or if you want specific patch information, check Susan Bradley's Master Patch List for guidance.
