Watching Star Wars Rebels at the moment and I'm a bit puzzled by the Bendu, he/it claims to be in the middle of the light & the dark, yet doesn't exactly elaborate on that. He/it appears to have been introduced to be a Deus Ex Machina for the season 3 final - which he/it was.

I agree. I did not much care for him in one way or the other. The Bendu seems more like a fable/fairy tale character and plot device than something coming from the narrative we get in Lucas Star Wars.
Same with the Force wolves, but shows like this should allow for experimentation.

I watched Rebels season three a few months ago, and thought he was an intriguing character. I do like that they are using George Lucas's unused ideas from earlier Star Wars scripts and incorporating them into the lore (i.e. the Whills).

I must admit The Bendu & the Lothal Wolves were are lot more creative than anything the new films have done, even they perhaps didn't work out all that well, at least they're trying new things instead of rehashing the old films.
