sounds promising so far.
The difficult thing is to do such a silly cartoon charater correctly. And to put in scene an underwater world and battles without it being ackward and too CGI-artificial- which was never done sucessfully in life action movies so far.
If they do that right the film has it's artistic merits and will do fine.

If they do that right the film has it's artistic merits and will do fine. Well by casting Momoa and following his "rocker" quality they're un-doing the "super friends" image that people insist on thinking the character as.
As for the the CGI... I don't think there's a way around that. You cant actually shoot underwater without lighting problems and cast and crew drowning. No shot in the film would be more than a minute and half long without having to come up for air! lol
I'm mostly concerned about story and pace. If those are good I think we'll be alright.

Not sure what makes this 'the most ambitious'' Dceu movie to date according to these reviewers. BvS was a lot more ambitious.

Not sure what makes this 'the most ambitious'' Dceu movie to date according to these reviewers. BvS was a lot more ambitious. Thought so too. I think they refer to the underwater world building and scope. BvS was essentially a character drama about clashing vigilante profiles in a gothic city but Aqua is aiming towards fantasy and sci fi elements with giant seahorses, talking squid and whatnot.

Its more of a dig at these so called critics/reviewers rather than the film. These people love their hot takes to make noise on social media and will often lazily overuse/misuse phrases like ''most ambitious DC movie to date!!'' ''best DC movie since Dark Knight!'' or the MCU flavoured versions of ''MCU outdoes it self again!'' ''Ragnarok, no Black Panther, no Infinity War is the best MCU movie to date!''
