One of the things Whedon seemed to be going for was to film a comic book. That opening battle plays very much like panels. Panel of this hero. Panel of that hero. Panel. Panel. Panel. SPLASH PAGE all the heroes together in action.
The fight with Ultron of all the heroes fighting various Ultrons was a centerfold page of all the heroes in action.
Say what you will about the movie. I think Whedon tried too hard on the monsters line. Every hero had a line about being a monster.
But he got the panel aspect right.

Wonder Woman.
When all was said and done, it just made me feel better. She tore into battle, inspiring the others to follow. It's a really touching example of one person making the kind of difference that could change the world.
Even long journeys begin with short steps, and there's no ambiguity whatsoever that she wants to be a hero. I feel like I'm watching a one woman wrecking crew kicking ass on her own terms as her best self and when the dust was settled, she shook hands and smiled reassuringly with villagers. Even after the fight, the battle for morale is still to be fought and I thought she did it with class. Like a near perfect fusion of might makes right + empathy.
