Isnt it concerning that Kevin Feige has openly said Captain Marvel is going to be the future face of Marvel and that the future is female yet her 2 trailer appearances have been very underwhelming? Her wooden, cold gaze doesnt leave any immediate impression of excitable support behind her character.
She is planned to take over the reigns as the poster child of the Avengers franchise from RDJs Tony Stark and Chris Evans Captain America; the former a very charismatic personality and the latter a very likeable, boy scout type. So far Captain Marvel hasnt displayed anything that is going to hold her to this standard; she has the range of a desert rock in her 2 trailers. They tried doing this in the comics and failed because readers rejected the Marvel writers forcefeeding of a boring character to be the flag holder of all Marvel Comics. Disney did the same with Rey as the franchise star of SW and shes awful.
I think its of grave concern they haven't got off on a positive start. If you look at major studios and their LEAD characters, they all are very likeable stars with natural charisma oozing from their mere on screen presence.
Reeves Superman, Keatons Batman, Wolverine, Christian Bales Batman, Gal Gadots WW, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers. Brie Larson has huge shoes to fill in taking MCU forward, its a gamble by Feige and could backfire like the comics and seem likr a pure SJW move.

She's great but I wouldn't say that anybody is above appearing in a superhero movie these days. Does Scott Pilgrim v the Word count as a comic book movie? It's not a superhero movie, that's for sure. But she was in that and completely under my radar at the time. |

It's possible that she only going by what there's directors are giving her.
It's also the director job to get a good performance from the actor.

I do think Feige made a mistake of declaring that she was going to be the face of the MCU. That just puts a lot of pressure on her. They've never actually said who was the face of the MCU, just allowed people to draw their own conclusions. Now she'll need to live up to that promise. Completely unnecessary.

That’s not a great way to judge actors. I’m not even sure how a person gets to a point where they feel that’s correct. |

I have faith in her abilities. I haven't seen a movie with her in it where I thought her performance was bad. Room she knocked out of the park. The scenes we've seen in the trailers seem to be mostly when she still is brainwashed from the Kree with no memory. I assume we will get the cocky brash Carol after that breaks.
