Girlfight and Aeon Flux were flops and no one gives a rats about them and as far a critics opinions go, they are full of it.
No one gives a crap about Aeon Flux, but objectively, a lot of people really liked Girlfight. You are just in the minority. And frankly, only a dolt gives box office higher standing than critical reception when appraising quality,.
If you could actually present objective evidence that "the universe all connects at a cellular level", that would be something. Maybe it does, in some sense. Your problem is that you literally have no idea what you even mean when you type that blather.

Of course it means something. To the average filmgoer, a film just has to be good or appealing, the credits don't mean anything. At an executive and pc level, there are more mechanisms going on. If the film had been a smash, do you not think that they wouldn't have played up on the director's gender and ethnicity? It is all agenda driven hypocrisy by Hollywood.
The film perhaps needed a male director to exploit the sexuality and horror elements more and not make it girlpower sexuality phony. I recall reading some comments about how a female felt this film was for young males to get jerk off fantasies over Fox, but in the process, the films sexuality came off as insipid and feminine bland. They ended up alienating the audience by not giving something that it promised.
There is no relevant point to the article, except to feed into today's social climate and it is pointless. It is not going to change the status, or following of the misfired mediocrity of this film. It is not worthy!
I don't really give a shit what the article says, and I haven't seen the movie in a long time, but like many other people I saw her later film and didn't know who had made it. I just knew that the film was well made by a filmmaker with some real talent. You denying that she's done anything of note since this movie is factually incorrect, and bringing up her being Asian is just you reaching for things to bitch and moan about. It's completely irrelevant other than just desperately trying to complain about nothing.

JB is not a horror film deserving of being on anyone's radar in terms of being 're-thinked' . . . Nevertheless, it is, cupcake. So go suck on it.

I'm not rethinking it; I thought it was brilliant when I first saw it.
Megan Fox was hilarious in it.
Almost as funny as Amanda Seyfrieds character.
I get the impression that people didn't understand that MF was playing a 'typical' dipsy high school girl, and assumed she was playing it straight.
Jennifer's Body was a very good film!
8/10
