Everyone else's speaking mannerisms make sense. Hers doesn't, since English/Anglo accents are consistently depicted as a mark of nobility or at least the educated (or privileged, like Kenobi). Think Tarkin, Krennic, Palpatine, et al. So why does Rey speak this way? Nobody on Jakku (that we see) does, and it's never addressed. Nobody? Are you certain?

Ah yes, English accents are a depiction of nobility. No matter what part of London you're from, Maida Vale or the West End, never mind the Imperial guy with a West Country accent, they all have some nobility. You really are a fucking retard, what a sad bunch of losers you are, still crying over this film 3 years later. nobody really cares about your foul Brit slums, Punky. Lol at the Brexit travesty. I would really not speak of retards and losers if i were you. Speaking of sad losers, do you still molest women by pretending you are a girl like back on Imdb? Anyways, good you're back with all your charms intact.

I have a suspicion, and it could very well be wrong, that Lor San Tekka could have helped with the accent. Not as a biological father, but an influence growing up. Could I be completely full of shit? Sure! It's just speculation. I guess I'll find out in a little less than a year.

I think that even with all they do to Finn’s character, he could have really benefited from getting to keep Boyega’s natural English accent. Anyone else considered how that could shift the viewer’s interpretation of him? I think making him Rey's one-liner sidekick just doomed the character. Sock puppet please.

What is about that tiny little island that makes so many of you brits or anglophiles so delusional? Is it the water, the horrible food, all the inbreeding? Despite the OVERWHELMINGLY mostly white population and BREXIT!!!!!!!!! brits still think they are not bigots. Also brits think they are still somehow relevant in politics and sports and well anything. Now you're saying that not only that douchebag stick up the ass posh accent indicates "nobility" but so do the rest of your mushmouthed indecipherable accents? Lay off the sweet breads mate. They are obviously loaded with iodine.

Well Gal Gadot is incapable of changing her accent so they made all the Amazons speak in an Israeli accent. Maybe Star Wars should do something like that.

The next time I tell one of you dipshits that I’ve forgotten more about Star Wars than you’ll ever know I don’t want to hear any guff about it.

Oh, I forgot, you don't take things "to seriously" and you in no way have a obsessive complex.

Presently what the Disney machine's narrative is about the accent, I don't know.
Back after Episode 7 was released, it was that Abrams asked Ridley to keep her accent while Boyega was told to lose his.

If yes, how did you come to that distance diagnosis? If you think I am obsessing over you, well I don't know how to tell you... (but all that would be within the scope of covert/vulnerable narcissist characteristics who obsessively projects envy & jealousy upon everybody making themselves center and coveted - in the end there is a strong co-morbidity factor with borderline disorder).

You do know that they all have an accent right?
American-English is also an accent.
