Dearie, MP's films are truly fantastic, they are what you call "Brute British Humor"
Example: "One Day My Lad This Will All Be Yours" "What The Curtains"
Where one says everything is to be theirs and the other comes out with complete randomness.
The black knight is also a very British Humor sketch, even at the bitter end he still is defiant, thats the British for you, stiff upper lip.
In this film and other MP films they mock just about anything and everything, which is truly a British way of life, we love to mock and joke, these films by the MP's embrace that truly.
Dont get me started on Life Of Brian, that is their best work, Pontious Pilate, now there's an interesting character.
"Thwrow him to the floowr."

Personally I prefer this one over "The Life of Brian" and it has provided me with one of the best questions to pose to people over the years...essentially about physics.

A laugh riot. I can still watch it, quote it, and laugh at every joke.

Hello, Mmmm, actually, the holy grail is the most farcical monthy... You can't take sides, they are all silly characters... I would compare ben hur to life of brian. And, well, yes ben hur is an epic, imho. No need for the Pythons to call it that. Till later, T

It's a good film if you get the comedy That's why a lot of Brit things get remade in American format for this purpose

Very true, unfortunately as like you said half as funny. It's a shame as I prefer the original British humour if you can grasp it properly it's great I could name countless series and shows that gets Americanised from a bangingly funny show in the first place. I'm not saying Americans are dumb for remaking classics or anything, it's just a difference they have so they re format them otherwise some just won't get the Brit humour . I'm lucky I love the big American shows we have thanks to them and most of the top shows now we have them to thank for it's just there are some things which are hilarious they some don't get and that's no ones fault really, like Bollywood is huge but I don't get it but that's no ones fault either. Im not even British I'm Nordic and get both us and uk humour. So I guess I'm lucky

I never really understood the appeal of Monty Python flicks. I kinda liked Yellowbeard and I like Terry Gilliam as s director. John Cleese and Eric Idle are fine as well..I just never found the Python movies that funny. I like British Humor. Spinal Tap is one of my favs. MP just isn't my " cup of tea" pun totally intended.

Possibly one of the funniest movies of all time. Absolutely hysterical with that dry British wit, and very quotable.

You have me confused. "This is Spinal Tap" was an American film, written and directed by Americans.
