I don't think that the early 2000s is culturally all that different from now. I would maybe say Malcolm in the Middle, because that was a different type of sitcom for a different type of world.

The Office (UK), Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development for me. They killed off the laughter track!

Arrested Development had a good level of cynicism in it. I would say that would have to be one of them.

The noughties were like the 90's, the PC rot hadn't taken hold yet and a lot of the shows especially from the early part of the noughties were just about entertainment rather than pushing agenda's.
The Soprano's Buffy the Vampire Slayer which started in '97 but ran till 2003 Band of Brothers The Shield Angel ('99-2004) Everybody Loves Raymond
All very different but same in the sense that they are just about entertainment.

George Lopez. It covered all the relevant events, stars and language of the period.

I think the early seasons of CSI really captured that early 2000s vibe. Someone mentioned Monk. I faithfully watched that show, but it lasted from 2002 till 2009 (which is more mid 2000s) and it just has more of a timeless feel to me. Maybe because it didn't really try to be that hip. I was much too old for Lizzie Mcguire, but that show seems to capture early 20OOs teen culture.

I think Everybody Loves Raymond captures the early 2000s pretty good.
