how about a remake of The Shining with Bradley Cooper as Jack and the resurgent JLO as Wendy? Pointless. And I don’t buy them as a couple. J-Lo sucks.

I love the big budget flicks like the new Avengers and Captain Marvel. I have kids so I will also be looking forward to films like Toy Story 4 and The Lion King.

you new-wave Emo haters can hate on remakes, reboots, CGI all you want - this is where the action is at baby All that would seem to appeal directly to emo douches... did you ever listen to the soundtrack for Freddy vs Jason?

any crossovers coming? i.e Freddy vs Jason II or Michael vs. Pinhead (i.e. the rumored 'Helloween' from years ago) how about a Jaws remake? you new-wave Emo haters can hate on remakes, reboots, CGI all you want - this is where the action is at baby how about another Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity or SAW movie for Halloween Remakes and reboots are fine (except for Jaws, don't be silly), they can help reignite interest in a particular franchise ( e.g.,Halloween from earlier this year) or even in the original itself, so I have no issue with them. If you don't like them, don't watch them. Although with Jaws, that movie is perfect. A remake couldn't possibly outdo the original and since interest in the original remains strong, remaking it would be nothing more a money grab, and money grabs are invariably garbage. Now, with CGI, this is not where the action is at, especially within the horror genre. The best horror movies are always ones that rely on atmosphere, mounting dread and a great script. The second you see that CGI generated monster, all suspense is gone, all atmosphere is shot to shit and the audience basically tunes out. It happens every time. You even listed 3 movies you want to see new entries for - all 3 of which were made famous, in part, for doing things minimally without any CGI whatsoever (at least not in the originals).

Remaking a great movie inevitably results in an inferior product. Think Ghostbusters, Robocop, The Force Awakens (come on, it’s a remake of A New Hope). What they should do is remake shitty movies with the hopes that they will be improved. Think Weekend at Bernie’s, The Happening, and 97% of the works of Nicolas Cage.
