I actually watched the entire season 7 today me too it was great re-watching it , nothing else interesting on TV to watch this holiday weekend It was great because my dad watched it with me and now he’s more “in the know” to watch th final season with me. But at the same time watching Season 7 was bittersweet. It’s no secret that I think the show isn’t amazing anymore and it feels rushed. But at the same time it’s still enjoyable imo. Because I still do love the characters. The memories of discussing the show with you guys and it helping me through dark times makes it super special to me. Im really scared I won’t enjoy the last 6 episodes. Or they won’t do it justice. But then again could they ever please me? And then comes the scariest thought of all. What do I do when the show is a over? I can’t believe it’s ending

Yeah I love the Sansa and Jon reunion. Personally the others felt too cold. Sansa seemed to barely care about Bran or Arya. And the whole thing with Arya and Sansa being at odds with each other was terrible. I’m hoping the Arya and Jon reunion is incredible. I will always Love the show no matter what. But I truly don’t understand why HBO didn’t hand it to different show runners. D&D did great with what they had but it’s abundantly clear they are going through the motions. They should have let someone else finish it while they stayed on as executive producers checking in from time to time. I would also have been fine with seasons being 2 years apart for every season. Westworld is like this and it works better anyway. It would have been a win for fans and made more money. I just don’t get it. But hey it’s too late now.

That is something very mysterious to me as well. You'd think that HBO would do everything in their power to keep the most successful show of all time running as long as possible. George RR Martin himself has said he'd like to see the show go on for many more seasons, so its not his decision. My only guess is that it's somehow written into their contracts that D&D must finish the show themselves. Even though that doesn't really make sense.

I actually stopped watching after Ep. 9, which I took as an insult to intelligence. I caught up with the finale months later and regretted it. Cersei might have made a mistake, after all…

That is something very mysterious to me as well. Not completely mysterious to me. Dumbing down is the golden recipe to success. The decision to shorten the story is debatable, surely a couple more season could have kept the momentum but I think this all goes back to the lukewarm reception of the slow beginning of S5, with paying idiots complaining it was boring. They learned from that and the writing was brought down to the level of the mass audience.

Yeah I love the Sansa and Jon reunion. I felt it was one of those cheated things that ruined the show. Sansa should not have been able to reach Castle Black untroubled. This acceleration process at the cost of logic had started near the end of S5.

Season 7 and 8 should be full seasons. A lot of this stuff feels hilariously half baked. Like when Theon gets the upper hand on that guy all the iron island people decide to just follow him and change focus in a instant. Or Jon and company having a journey beyond the wall. Something like that used to take a few episodes. They could have had them surrounded for days and built great tension. Its not thats its ending that upsets me, it’s how.
