Dušan Makavejev ( 1932 – 25 January 2019) Acclaimed Serbian film director and screenwriter, famous for his ground-breaking films of Yugoslavian cinema in the 1960s and early 1970s, an era of cinematic creativity termed the Yugoslavian Black Wave. These films standout for their non-traditional approach to film making, their dark humour and their critical examination of the Yugoslav society at the time. Dušan Makavejev an original & outstanding cinematic artist .. R.I.P
My favourite Serbian filmmaker - 'Man Is Not A Bird' (1965), 'Love Affair, Or The Case Of The Missing Switchboard Operator' (1967) and 'W.R.: Mysteries Of The Organism' (1971) made me view cinema in an entirely different light.
Thank you for the movies, Mr. Makavejev.

What a sad day for the arts with all of these losses. May these talented artists always be remembered for their wonderful works, which invariably made the world a better place.
Rest in peace to all.
And I send a personal and heartfelt farewell to James Frawley, the youngest son of actor William Frawley. A member of the Actors Studio as a young man, he began his career as an actor, making his Broadway debut in 1960 with Laurence Olivier and Anthony Quinn in the Tony-nominated "Becket." In 1966 he turned to directing, working primarily in television, though he did do an occasional feature. He directed the first episode of THE MONKEES in 1966, and began a long, prolific directing career that lasted until he retired in 2009.
Directing The Muppet Movie (1979)
