Most of Fincher's films are tolerable but I not seen one (and I have seen all on the list but "Button") that I have wholeheartedly liked. With me, they leave a sour taste on the tongue.
His "Dragon Tattoo" was pretty bad and completely unnecessary.

Talk about a director that has made films that I can usually only view once and never revisit. They aren't bad films per se, but I just don't have an interest in seeing them again.
I admit that I was obsessed with Fight Club when it came out, I was probably the target audience in fact (college age). I can't even watch it all the way through anymore. I still give it a decent rating though because like I said it's not a bad film, I just can't stomach it anymore.
I do like the Game though, I believe that is his masterpiece.
The Game 8/10 Zodiac 7/10 Panic Room 7/10 Se7en 6/10 Fight Club 6/10 Alien 3 4/10 Curious Case of Benjamin Button 3/10 (hilarious how many copies of the Criterion blu-ray are floating on ebay for next to nothing).
I haven't seen Social Network, Dragon Tattoo, or Gone Girl. I have no interest in those films.

I wasn't obsessed (I am a generation older than the target audience) but I did admire it quite a bit - for a while. Eventually, the Fincher Sour Taste that I mentioned in my earlier reply started to creep in. It's funny how liking and admiration has turned to distaste over the years.

To be fair, my view of The Social Network as a film is extremely biased for several reasons.
1.) I don't understand why this is a movie; more specifically, why it's a movie while Facebook is still relevant. Seems like a film that should come out in 20 years. 2.) I hate Facebook (never used it), I hate movies about assholes and Mark Zuckerberg is an asshole. At one point a character in the film tells him he isn't an asshole, he just tries to be. He absolutely is, in real life and in the film. I don't understand that line. 3.) I've never seen it start to finish (for the reasons previously mentioned), just bits and pieces on tv.
Fight Club is one of my favorite comedies of all time. Zodiac and Seven are phenomenal films. I think Fincher is an excellent director, so I actually gave him an extra point for each of the other films I haven't mentioned by name yet. They didn't pull me in due to subject matter (well Alien 3 was a train wreck of studio interference so he gets a pass there) but they're all superbly crafted as films go.

I'm biased as hell here with my ratings as I am a HUGE fan of the Fincher man (easily one of my favorite directors working today and damn I really hope he makes another film ASAP . Its been like almost 5 years since his last film ...UGH!)
Anyways here's how I'd rate his filmography ...
1. Se7en 10/10 2. Zodiac 10/10 3. Fight Club 10/10 4. The Social Network 10/10 5. Alien 3 8/10 6. Panic Room 8/10 7. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo 7.5/10 8. The Game 7/10 9. Gone Girl 7/10 10. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 5.5/10
Honestly, the only film I do not like from Fincher is Button . Sure , it was a gorgeous film (with some jaw dropping cgi ) but I guess it was just too Forrest Gump lite for my taste . Like it was too sappy in too many parts and didn't feel like a David Fincher film. surprised he even directed that shit (maybe he just wanted to work with his best buddy Pitt again lol) .

I haven't seen enough to answer comprehensively, but Gone Girl, Zodiac and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button have been on my Watchlist for so long. Glad to see them scoring so highly on this poll.

He's one of the most overrated directors, especially over the last 20 years or so. I have seen pretty much all of his movies besides Gone Girl (and maybe somewhat Alien 3(I think I have at least seen bits-and-pieces of this at some point in the past even though I don't have it rated on IMDb)).
None of his movies are worth re-watching for me at this point in time.
p.s. Fight Club (1999) is pretty much the gold standard of overrated if you ask me as it's the highest ranked movie in IMDb's Top 250 that I think is below average at best. for the record... I used to think it was a solid movie back around the early-to-mid 2000's and then I went quite a few years without re-watching it and then re-watched it on Apr 10th 2013 and prior to that viewing I had a feeling it was going to take a hit for me but I did not expect to dislike it as much as I did. it's basically below average/borderline failure for me at a 3.5-4/10.
