"They call me Mr Glass!"
I did like that surprise. Can't remember anything else about Unbreakable.

At the least, itβll be likely be trashy pulpy fun. Seeing those three trying to out-mug each other sounds like a gas.

Well that's typical these days for a Shyamalan movie.

Not surprised at all. The trailer shows all these different genres being mixed into one unholy mess. Is it a super hero movie, a horror movie, a psychological Drama?
Think i will sit this one out.

i like even his bad movies. his worst movie is still a decent movie. lets not kid ourselves. Yikes. no really, i mean it. think about it. what do you think is his worst movie? RT says After Earth or Happening. I mean After Earth was somewhat bad, I agree, but it was still a "well made" movie, clearly done by someone who knew his craft. Happening even more so. Had very little problems with Happening. You cannot say it is done by an inept filmmaker, that would simply not be true. It may have been overwritten or overhyped, or it missed its point or struggled to find an even tone or its main msg etc, but still, those were decent movies. When you allow yourself to step further away from the massive expectations that now became "the new norm" where we want those great results all the time on all levels, and not notice we became so spoilt by todays entertainment, that we just naturally expect to be blown away, we look for flaws, we focus on what didn't work, we judge, criticize, and evaluate it always compared to "the best of the best" it seems to me. Shyamalan is a man of great talent and skill and a superb imagination, who has proven multiple times he can deliver a way above average movie. There is no question about him being a good filmmaker. Its all about "do we like each one of his movies" sure, thats completely valid. You may have not liked some of his movies. But he is still a good filmmaker.

Well that's typical these days for a Shyamalan movie. Well, not so much recently. The Visit and Spilt were received, and it almost seemed like M was on a comeback. This is sad to hear.

Very disappointing. Split was very good and the tie in to Unbreakable was great. I was looking forward to this one.

What works about the originals is a unique identity , each really has some very interesting element as well.

it's because of the ending which is something that you would not expect for such a film.
The more daring, artistic genre stuff is often punished by critics whereas play-it-safely-by-numbers with a bit of wokey-dokey seems to get rave reviews.
