Wonder how they'll screw this up? Hopefully they don't. The 'Arrowverse' has screwed up a number of things over the years but occasionally they get some things right or do okay versions of themName one I dare you.

Deathstroke Black Canary - and by that I mean Caity Lotz as "Canary," which is as far as I'm concerned, a difference without distinction. Superman has been pretty good. Lois wasn't bad.

I think the only great storyline 'Arrow' did was the Deathstroke storyline in Season 2 and I liked how they added a history between Oliver and Slade on the island that they didn't have in the comic books but Warner Bros ruined things with Deathstroke when they blocked them from using the character just when they brought him back. I think they should have kept Shado alive too and had her return later. Shado still being alive would have been a good twist after everything that happened between Oliver and Slade and they could have made her the Lady Shiva of the Arrowverse.

Yeah I liked Shado also, they could have still used the actress as Shiva I guess just make it her sister, but they could have used Shado still like after he kills her have Ivo take her body for some experiment or something, then when they take the ship have Oliver & Slade want to know what he did with her body, Ivo either refuses to talk or says something that pisses off one of them, then Salde when he is in control of the boat learns Ivo found something and had her body picked up and taken somewhere, which could have been used to explain where he went after the island, he spent the next year or two trying to find her, which he ultimately cannot do, or is tricked into thinking he had but it's a near unrecognisable corpse, after which is when he goes back to his son, until the events of S1 lead him to come for Oliver, this way we could still get Shado but no they had to waste a good character.
God the amount of wasted characters these shows have ran through is astonishing.

I'm suddenly picturing the scene on Archer, where Krieger retrieves a near dead Katya and turns her into a cyborg. No kidding. Solomon Grundy, anyone?

Oh, I agree with you. They have wasted a LOT of characters in the 'Arrowverse' that could have been entertaining to see in other seasons if they hadn't wasted them by killing them off early or wrote them off and pretended like they never existed and with characters like Deadshot, Deathstroke, Katana and Amanda Waller it couldn't be helped since it was Warner Bros who stopped the writers from using them again and it looks like King Shark is going to be the latest character off limits now they have revealed he is going to be in 'Suicide Squad 2' which is kinda unfair since the 'Arrowverse' were using him first and I am not saying they were doing a great job but it must be frustrating for writers to just have characters stolen away from them like that especially if they have bigger plans for them which I believe Marc did with Deathstroke. Shado or her Sister could have been good additions to some of the later seasons and there was no excuse why they just wrote off Ragman and the Huntress and now we know the Huntress is returning I am hoping they bring back Ragman for another episode before the show ends. With 'Arrow' coming to an end they have a chance to bring back a few characters that haven't been seen for a while and with 'Gotham' gone maybe they could actually use Solomon Grundy this time and have him as one of the villains for the final season tying back to Season 2.
I am interested in seeing who they end up using as the main villain for the final season and I think it might be Onomatopoeia or the Riddler. Are there any characters you would like to see 'Arrow' bring back for the final season and how do you see the show ending before the crossover since there will most likely be some other big event that takes up the rest of the season.

I would love Onomatopoeia to be a season long villain, I had an idea for them to use him in S2 which I recall posting about on the original arrow board on imdb, which could still work now if I think about it, thing is if it's going to be a shorter season theres a lot less time to get into other characters, really you have to pick do you want a season long story or do you want to make a greatest hits season, as you honestly don't have the time to do both really.
I would love to see Ragman back, Huntress im cool with seeing again but she never captured my interest in the show, she was a weaker point of the show in those early seasons, which if they bring that same level of quality now probably make her a boost to the show, but if the character remains as relatively interesting ot the story as she was then dear god will I be snoring my arse off...so she better be good, Arrow writers, I know you read this board, don't fuck it up you muppets, you got that?!?!?!

They should tackle this story. Handle it as serious and ham fisted as the original. That fits in with the tone of the CW.

I think I remember seeing a thread about that on the 'Arrow' board Dazz but couldn't remember if it was by you or another member but that was when you were calling yourself by your full name which I won't mention on here if you don't want me to but what made you change your name to Dazz? It definitely suits you and it stands out more as a profile name. I went few a few different names when I was on there and you might recall I changed mine often and ended up using my real first name as my main profile name. I think you make a good point about the final season and 'cause it is short we can only have one option and if they made it a greatest hits type of season it would take away from the time the villain would need. I would like to see it end with Oliver facing a very difficult villain who was a physical threat to him and the others and lead to them having a big fight at the end. I was hoping they would do that with Richard Dragon (Ricardo Diaz) 'cause if they had made him like he was in the comic books he would have been a huge challenge for Oliver to overcome in a fight but we saw what they did with him. I vote one big villain at the end and they could maybe have them kill off some of Team Arrow and have some past characters return to help Oliver fight them. What would you like to see?

I went by my name just because I didn't think not to, I never got the people who had names in lite speak or any of that, I also didn't notice I could alter my name on there for ages, so by the time I could I just figured F it I've been me on here for way too long to care to change it now, but once IMDB shut I decided to just stick with the nickname I have had since I was a nipper.
As you may have noticed I don't tend to change my stuff up much, same avatar for years, same name, I am dull like that.
Surprised you recall that topic though Deb, it was obviously like 6 years ago at this point, also wasn't a topic anyone replied to which amused me, so speaks to your memory if you do even in passing.
My memory on the other hand is terrible I forget of the top of my head who posted back then, probably a bunch of people one here did but I forget unless they have the same usernames, which I know some used to and changed so my drunken monkey brain kind of disconnects.
As for what I would like to see, I dunno, I think the idea that Oliver is likely to die in the Crisis event kind of handicaps the series a little, as how do they tie that into the final season also? because of that maybe a greatest hit's season would be best, like Oliver having that one last confrontation with multiple foes over 2 or 3 multipart arcs, bring back Roy & Nyssa for a few episodes as well as Ragman, Huntress the whole bunch of past reoccurring characters, I hope they let Arrow use Slade one last time as I want Oliver & Slade to have one last interaction also.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure out how Crisis might play into the final season of Arrow if Oliver dies, since presumably the wouldn't be all the way up to episode 10 by the crossover, unless they start super early next season. They could of course dedicate a couple of episodes to the fallout from Oliver dying and how things wrap up. What would be better is if they tease the deal Oliver made, knowing people would think it means he's going to die, but then go some other way with it.
I have mixed feelings about them killing Oliver off. On the one hand, it would fit with him comic history where he died saving, I want to say Metropolis, on a plane that was going to explode or something, but he managed to fly it out over the water where it would do the least damage. Plus, if they were to kill him off in a way that played into his comic book arc, then there's the prospect that he is eventually brought back the same way; even though they never bothered building his friendship with Hal Jordan the way I wished they had, which would have given way to his resurrection after Hal became the Spectre.
On the other hand, the idea of Oliver being killed off to cap the end of the series feels reminiscent of the ending of Xena, which to this day still annoys me; because it suggests that there's no possible happy ending for these characters, no redemption of their past until they're dead.
What might be good is something like the end of The Dark Knight Strikes Again, where an older Batman had come out of retirement and ultimately faked his death; and then goes on to train a new generation of vigilantes in secret. This probably would have only worked though without the Felicity/Mia flashforward stories, since Oliver didn't appear to be around when Mia was growing up; and if the flashforwards had instead focused on where Oliver ended up 20 years from now and him coming out of retirement, etc., etc.

Well the crossover this year was episode 9 of the season, so if they made the opener a double episode then the crossover would be the final one of the season.
As for what they do they could do something like tie Oliver's fate in with another DC character, like what if Oliver becomes The Spectre or Doctor Fate, something that explains why he isn't part of his families life going forward but doesn't so much kill the character though it does justify the series ending?
I do agree there is something about characters whose story is doomed that doesn't quite sit well, especially if they aren't done well.
I also agree the flash forwards being the story of everyone but Oliver kind of sucks, also annoying how they set up this supposed oath Team Arrow took and haven't touched on that at all yet in the present, which is like ok whats the fucking point of it, also seeing how little it matters in the future also again it's like what did they just forget about this?
I still am generally displeased with the fact EVERY future seems bleak in the Arrowverse, I mean whats the point of these heroes efforts if the world still turns to shit regardless? and also the fact that on Legends there like eh whatever about it all, they spent S1 trying to stop Savage because he enslaved the world in the future so why don't they care about it now? also are the never going to pay off the Thanagarian threat that they said was coming at the end of S1 of LOT? daamit people get yah shit together you fucks.
