is it just a coincidence that you, Godfather, and John Spartan are the ones tag teaming her? It is no coincidence that our local Nazi sympathizer and right wing nutcase have joined forces in attacking her on the most superficial grounds possible, as a mask for their real agendas.

What dollar amount, worldwide, would confirm your theory? 300 mill 300 million world world is not a rational person's idea of a bomb. You obviously have a very tenuous grasp of how reality works.

This is how hetero males talk, get lost if you don't like it. This is how people with the IQ and maturity of 13 years olds post. Get lost if you don't like these fact pointed out by people who are more mature and smarter than you.
By the way, you are welcome to finally Come Out. We all know, given your various obsessions, that you are deeply repressing your real sexuality. Just be honest. You will find friends here who won't judge you.

Last I checked, Larson's face wasn't an artistic work, and Captain Marvel wasn't a Bond girl. And you can get off of your PC censorship cross, as I didn't tell anyone they couldn't judge her acting with their dick, I just called it out as immature, especially when it's motivated by a dislike of her political opinions. Or is it just a coincidence that you, Godfather, and John Spartan are the ones tag teaming her? It's not a conspiracy. The same way people didn't get Kelly Marie Tran confused with Kelly Hu. No one criticized Hu in X-men 2.
It has to do with observation and merit.
The same way if there is a foot race and one person crosses the finish line before the other, one doesn't usually say: it was a photo finish.

I can't find the merit in judging Kelly Marie Tran's acting for her looks, either.

I can't find the merit in judging Kelly Marie Tran's acting for her looks, either. Then judge her for her personality. Either works, separately or together. Some people can be good looking but dull as a fence post. Others can be ugly but charismatic. Some are good looking and charismatic. Some are ugly and not charismatic.
Looks, personality, ability, they are all covered under merit. It is subjective, but a consensus may develop.

How about I judge her on her acting? I thought Tran's was fine. And then Larson is a well justified Oscar winner. On that note, Tran isn't even "ugly". She just looks like a regular person. Like Larson in this thread, the bullying she got was politically motivated - "oh no, an Asian woman, more forced diversity". The only consensus I'm getting is if right leaning nerds have nothing else to fall back on, attack a girl's looks.

I think there were better actresses for the role and would have preferred Yvonne Strahovski as Carol Danvers since she can fight and do all her own stunts like she did in 'Chuck' but I will give Brie a chance and am hoping she does a good job playing the character.

The only consensus I'm getting is if right leaning nerds have nothing else to fall back on, attack a girl's looks. A number of people found her acting to be wanting. Or whatever else they felt was offensive about her. Attacking her looks or acting is totally par for the course with art works. It's fair game with things aimed at audiences. That's where the term "rotten tomatos" comes from. In ye olden times, when theaters would put on plays aimed at all segments of society, the groundlings (the poorest audience members) would be situated below in the pit with rotten fruit and vegetables to throw at the stage if they didn't like it. It's not very friendly, but it happens with audiences.
Something like Star Wars is going to be under a lot of public scrutiny. Even if a tiny segment of the population really dislikes someone, for whatever reason, the numbers could be in the thousands.
Whining about audiences is not going to change anything if they do something experimental and audiences find it lacking.
At least Lucas learned from the JarJar experience. People hated him so he cut his screen time (after defiantly vowing there would be a lot more JarJar).

Maybe I shouldn't compare her to Gal Gadot. That really isn't fair. Yep, comparing Brie Larsen to Gal Gadot is like comparing Tom Brady's wife to Justin Verlander's wife. Justin Verlander's wife is a true supermodel. Tom Brady's wife calls herself a supermodel, but she is really ugly for a supermodel. Kinda like comparing Jason Momoa's acting skills with those of an actor. Any actor

I don’t mind Brie Larson. She’s definitely beautiful. I do think she’s miscast as Ms Marvel tho. I felt that way from the first teaser on and nothing I’ve seen has changed my mind on that front.

My thoughts are negative right now regarding Brie and Ms Marvel. After I see the whole thing that could all change but as of right now, based on trailers, she looks like a dud here.

I can't speak on the behalf of others but I will say I personally think she is dull and I don't like her personality. She has no charisma and after the way she treated Casey Affleck during his Oscar run for Manchester by the Sea, she turned me off. He was never charged with sexual assault, never convicted, never admitted. Some rando woman can claim anything, he is Rich and has money. Wouldn't be the first time, but because the #MeToo movement was trendy, she acted like he had the plague and looked at him with disdain every time she had to present him with Best Actor at each award ceremony. Guess you're guilty until proven innocent in America if you're a male.

300 million world world is not a rational person's idea of a bomb. You obviously have a very tenuous grasp of how reality works. again your assertions miss any form of nuance or depth. To be able to assess profitability, WW box office must be set in relation with factors auch as budget, marketing and development costs. If this blockbuster film has a budget of say $200 and grossed 300m WW it would qualify a s a flop. Marketing and other cost factors (cinema profit retention, tax etc) would be significantly above 100M. Take Solo: Worldwide: $392,924,807. Do you think that film was a hit? "You obviously have a very tenuous grasp of how reality works." ? Indeed!
