Google the definition of 'parable'. Oh, so the shadow reality stuff is a parable, too. Let's also include (as parables) such things as the soul, the Resurrection of Jesus, Heaven, Hell, the Flood, the Burning Bush that Talked, the Possessed Pig, and Armageddon. I'm down with all of that and more.

You have to know how to interpret parable, which you obviously don't know how to do. Oh, so you have this hidden skill so you can just tell which are parables and which are historical claims. From my list, which are which and let us know how YOU know the difference. Also, can you provide a scholarly source with the same skills who agrees with your take? This should be rich! So right now, we have most of Genesis as a parable, right? Adam and Eve didn't really exist, right? The talking snake, the apple, the expulsion from Paradise: all parable, right?

paralyzed by protocols of pontificated pandering
there was a time when i was paralyzed by protocols of pontificated pandering.
when the jesuits weren't busy in their basements blowing each other and the holy mother was brought out paraded around like an innocuous circus clown.
thankfully thinking realistically i pulled myself up by my own jock strap and now only look back to ceremoniously smack all those who still reside in sacks they refuse to punch their way out of.
for love is indeed a velvet glove worth of the occasional bitch slapping.

Now you're getting it. Baby steps. However, many stories like the Adam & Eve story are allegorical.

Absolutely no point in discussing it with your dumb ass. Go ask a dumbass scientist. Most of them are still LYING and telling everyone that consciousness is in the brain, when studies with rats have disproved it.

I like threads like this for two reasons.
1) This is the Religion, Faith, and Spirituality board, and it's relevant for people like myself who are genuinely interested in it; a lot more relevant than threads about what restroom transgenders should use or the cultural appropriation of white people wearing dreadlocks, and other silly nonsense.
2) When a thread like this goes up, every materialistic creep on the board has to come in with some snark. It's funny to watch. Some of them are just sounding off, possibly because they feel there is an effort to convert them, but others seem to take it like a responsibility. An on-topic thread goes up, and they rush in like firefighters on their way to a burning apartment building.

And you think scientists are the ones who we should turn to on these issues? Then what are Christian theologians good for? Nothing? After all, it is Christian theologians who tell me that without Adam and Eve being literally true, the entire story of Christ has no meaning. I tend to think that when a religion's highest experts tell me something about their religion, they believe it and are sincere. But that's just me. Excuse me, shit for brains, but we've been through this drill before. You say something really stupid that is 100% you making dumb shit up, I ask for you to provide that actual studies from respected scientific sources which actually say the stupid stuff you wrote, and you run away with your tail between your legs or cite a study which doesn't say anything even remotely as you claimed. You're a deluded liar who knows jack shit about any subject under the sun, especially science, and we all know it.

Most scientists don't work for the government, shit for brains. And if they lie about their results, anyone can duplicate the work--and eventually will--and see that they are lying. If they were making shit up the way you do, most of the technology you use and see every day wouldn't exist. My god, you are such an ignorant loser it just defies the imagination. You really must have some kind of brain damage. I'm starting to think this is literally true, not just an insult.

Then common sense should give you a clue that I'm referring to the ones that DO work for government funds and are in the pockets of government. Those are the ones who are paid to LIE. The fact that you still believe consciousness is in the brain shows that you're an idiot.
I'm not referring to the scientists who invent technology, you insufferable moron.

Genesis also tells us that a talking snake convinced a rib woman, made from a mud man, to eat a magical fruit made by a supernatural being, thus making that being angry, and causing all the problems in the world. So....we should probably be taking anything said in Genesis with a grain of salt! Google the definition of 'parable'. Well I know what the definition of a parable is, and I’m well aware that Jesus specifically indicates whenever he is using a parable. What I’m not aware of is any church or church tradition that has ever associated the creation story of Genesis as a parable. So if you choose to interpret it as one, then you’d have to justify that interpretation (which frankly goes against Christian tradition).

It’s also funny because it demonstrates the futility and inconsistency of Christian faith, and how there is no consensus on how to interpret anything in scripture. Do you agree with Heeeyyy that the entire creation story is just allegory (or a parable as she put it) and not a literal event?

Even the most charitable poster on here would say that what she posts is ludicrously stupid and inaccurate, she never learns, is wilfully ignorant and anti-intellectual and seemingly proud of it, thinking that ONLY SHE knows the 'truth'. ( From this category of poster who might comment or assess her posts, I exclude Erjenious and Planet Arlon because, whist they are entitled to their opinions and right to express them, they, essentially are in the same Dunning Kruger category) Here is another interesting article on the effect with a slightly different twist... arstechnica.com/science/2016/11/revisiting-why-incompetents-think-theyre-awesome/

Those are the ones who are paid to LIE. Prove it, shit for brains. You regularly make shit up and tell more lies than anyone else on this board. Your word means nothing. It actually means less than nothing. No, it simply shows that I follow the evidence and agree with the vast majority of people who study the subject, who must all somehow be idiots, whereas you, with no education on the subject, somehow are a more credible authority. What a joke. The technology can't exist until the physics and chemistry work done by other scientists happens first, shit for brains.

Your last stupid sentence has no bearing on anything I've said.
