Happy 98th Birthday Betty White!!! Born on January 17, 1922 in Oak Park, Illinois Thanks for everything,so far...still active. Legendary American comediene mainly on television with a few occasional movies along the way, started professionally on early television as long back as 1939. She has one of the longest television careers of any female entertainer. Regarded as a pioneer of television, she was one of the first women to have control both in front of and behind the camera and is recognized as the first woman to produce a sitcom ( Life with Elizabeth). Some glimpses from her career over the years: Receiving her Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 1988 Not the Betty we know nowdays. Life with Elizabeth TV-series 1952 to 1955 Date with the Angels TV-series 1957 to 1958 Advise & Consent 1962, making her feature length movie debut, she had appeared in a United States Army Air Forces short named Time to Kill in 1945. The Match Game, just one of many television panel shows she's appeared on, as team-captains, co-host, contestant or guested. As Sue Ann Nivens on Mary Tyler Moore 1973 to 1977 The Betty White Show 1977 to 1978 As Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls 1985 to 1992 Maybe This Time TV-series 1995 to 1996 Hard Rain 1998 Lake Placid 1999 Ladies Man TV-series 1999 to 2001 The Third Wish 2005 Boston Legal TV-series 2005 to 2008 The Proposal 2009 Guest Host on Saturday Night Live 2010 Hot in Cleveland TV-series 2010 to 2015 Guest star on Bones TV-series 2015 and 2017 Published in 1995, when she was still young.

Happy Birthday to the enduring, lovable, extremely talented Betty White. With her well-lived life and all the good works she's done, she's a national treasure. Thanks for the wonderful memories, Betty. Many happy returns of the day.

Lake Placid told the wrong story. Instead of these bozos looking for a giant crocodile, imagine instead a curmudgeonly old lady trying to raise her new strange pet monster after her husband dies as a coping mechanisim.

So shocking but hilarious hearing BW delivering such lines, but she really makes the movie great!

"She started her entertainment career on radio in 1930 at the age of 8 playing an adopted orphan on the soap opera "Empire Builders"" and is STILL GOING STRONG !. I remember her from Life With Elizabeth and found a DVD with several episodes.
