Figured I'd make a thread for the upcoming Star Trek show featuring Patrick Steward returning as Jean-Luc Picard.
First bits of info have emerged:
Got this from Space.com
Curious how the inclusion of the destruction of Romulus has lead to some confusion with some thinking this show will take place in the Kelvin timeline - it won't it's taking place in the 'prime' universe.

I think Jean-Luc Picard was a fantastic character, played to perfection by Patrick Stewart, but I am really not very optimistic about this new show.

So in an interview, they have referred to the Picard show as a "limited series". No info on what that means.

I like that Patrick appears to be enthusiastic about it, but I have virtually no faith in Kurtzman to intentionally and competently write a good show.

A new update found on IGN.com, doesn't reveal much new, except the show will start filming in 2 & a 1/2 months:

Outside of the U.S. & Canada this show will be on Amazon Prime Video, which means I probably wont watch it. Otherwise I came this little tidbit: From Alex Kurtzman found on This article

Why did they let Alex fucking Kurtzman take the helm of this show?

Officially titled Star Trek Picard, with a logo and teaser above - of course the video is not available in my location.

A senior citizen aged Picard... with a thief & a drug addict?
Seriously? Even some of the worst trek episodes in the last 50 years, sounds better than this...
I'm highly doubtful that this series will do well. I'll be surprised if it lasts for more than one season.

Here's a video I saw recently talking about Picard and rumors that it's not testing well, take it with a grain of salt:

This show will be at SDCC, during an event titled "Enter the Star Trek universe". Something I missed is Michael Chabon is the showrunner for ST:P - I've never heard of him and not sure what he's done before

From the rumours, this is designed to look and feel "more like a Discovery sequel than a TNG sequel." Some say that the Discovery Klingorcs show up in the first few episodes.
My interest in this show is dropping off a cliff.

A new interview with Jonathon Frakes from IGN.com on him & Marina Sirtis appearing in the show:
Well, I don't like that Riker & Troi appear to have left Starfleet, I was looking forward to them showing Riker captaining the Titan.
Another bit on Frakes directing the show:

Gamespot have gone through the latest trailer for the show and found some curious stuff in there:
This definitely has me intrigued, hell I'll probably pirate the show.
