Yes and also allow the offensive player to then slap the defender's hand off, like Larry Bird does in this video at the 3:32 mark.

I'll never watch another NBA game until they start calling traveling. That genie is out of the bottle and there's no going back. Carrying the ball and taking at least three steps to the hoop is just how the game is played now. Even 15 years ago stuff like that would've been relegated to the And1 mixtape tour, but now it's common practice in the NBA. It is what it is.

Yes and allow "harder" defense. Steph 'Mr. Glass' Curry wouldn't have a career if he had to play against 90s or even early 2000s era NBA defense. He misses 20 games a season with sprained ankles, imagine how hard his life would be if you didn't get thrown out with a 'flagrant 2' if you try to prevent a layup.

I'll never watch another NBA game until they start calling traveling. Used to play on street courts when younger... it was simply 2 steps, any more is travelling.
