Highly enjoyable and well shot. Dont listen to the critics slandering it. Go and enjoy the movie. I did. A lot.
Avoy should seriously be nominated for an oscar for this. Its crazy he wont even be considered...
Wasnt bored for a minute. Kudos to Shyamalan.
this may be my favorite of his in a long time.
Its not perfect or visionary but its entertaining and on sole level deep. and has an A + cast.

I wasn't boring? It took a long time to finally get going. And the writing of it was so dumb. They only had 2 nurses, or whatever the hell they were, being guards and they carried a flashlight because it was a dimly lit psychiatric ward. Why the f*** would it be that when there is a mass murderer there and also a deranged murderer there? Security doesn't matter? And the girl has sympathy for The Beast?...Are you f***ing kidding me??? And then when the cops are there she is telling them to not hurt the psychopath who killed peopled brutally...That is so stupid. And she cries when the psychopathic murderer dies... So dumb!
And the stupidest part
was when the cops finally got there. Instead of guns or tasers, all they use is riot shields...WTF?!...What were they going to do with them? Just continue to push him back until...what??? Cops never use riots shields to stop one person.

Cops never use riots shields to stop one person. i understand your frustration and can see why some people would find it slow. to me the pace was no problem at all because of the amazing acting and interesting color schemes. i enjoyed that its taking its time. as for the stupidity of the script , i agree there were moments that could have been fleshed out bit more or differently but it didnt bother me as it wasnt really pretending to be reality but rather a more reality grounded take on the superhero genre and as such it worked. for your specific points i agree the security of the insitution seemed problematic. at the same time, it was not an instituation primarily for criminally insane. so it didnt bother me they didnt have guns. i did wonder why only two main nurses were shown, i agree with you there, also on the flashlight. could have been another item.
the girl having sympathy for the beast is not that odd. stockholm syndrom is real. but i dont think it was. she had sympathy for Kevin, not the beast. she connected to him since he too was abused as a child. was it a healthy connection? no. but women tend to form those much more often than you would think.
finally, the end, the police that got there were clearly on the doctors payrol, from her organisation, so not real cops and their primary goal at that point was not to necessarily kill them all. so while it did look weird, i agree with you, thats my explanation of why they wouldnt have used bullets or at least tazers to begin with.
but you know what did bug me a lot, HOW did Glass get out of the surgery or outsmart the surgeon?? didnt he get his brain operated on?

I don't buy what you said about the police because the security guards were already taken down by The Beast. So they were real police. Now you said it's not an institution primarily for the criminally insane, but the fact the Glass was a mass murderer and The Beast was a serial killer, means they would definitely hire security, probably real cops, to be there. And they wouldn't keep it so dimly lit. Plus they knew they knew The Beast and Willis could be serious threats because look what they did to their rooms. And I don't remember fully about the surgery thing. Now about the Stockholm Syndrome thing. I don't buy that all because she was never shown in Split to be that way. I mean, she shot him twice with a shotgun in that movie and that was the last time she saw him until she saw him in this movie. And when she saw him in this movie, she instantly had sympathy for him, but at the end of the first movie she tried to kill him. So therefore the Stockholm Syndrome thing doesn't fit at all.

I think for every person who liked it, there is 10 persons who disliked it, given how its score is dropping on IMDB.
3 days ago 8.5 2 days ago 8.2 yesterday 7.8 today 7.5
Will end up the least liked of the "trilogy".

We still send people there. My dad worked there in the 60s. We used to go there every year for 4th of July fireworks. So there are different level of criminal mental health facilities

. The movie is a mess — a boring talk-a-thon filled with long-winded meta-speeches about superheroics that seem 15 to 20 years out of date. It’s quite possible that it will make a profit because the last half of the movie looks so bloody cheap I couldn’t believe it was a major studio release. I love these actors, but they were done no favors by a script that makes George Lucas dialogue sound like Shakespeare. Word of mouth is going to catch up with this film by next weekend.

HOW did Glass get out of the surgery or outsmart the surgeon?? didnt he get his brain operated on? It seemed like they used a machine with a red laser that was supposed to do something to his brain without opening his head or anything. He took out a piece from the machine that prevented it from working.

I am not sure I would go as far as "great", but I enjoyed it too, in spite of a few problems with the story. Shyamalan gets a lot of hate but I still think he is a great director - just not as good a writer as he believes himself to be.
I have seen all of his movies except for "The Last Airbender" and the only one I disliked was "The Visit".

Other than the found footage style ten years after it stopped being a novelty, I honestly can't remember specifics of why I disliked it.

I give it a 7/10.
It was boring halfway through, when the 3 are lined up by the psychiatrist in the big hall. Seemed like she was asking the same questions over and over again. That part really dragged. But on the whole it was watchable and intriguing enough to keep my attention till the end, which was a satisfying conclusion.

I myself will probably be seeing it again soon and may do IMAX also, the color schemes in the movie will play put really well in a giant screen I am sure.

Nora I ended up seeing a regular showing g but still really liked the movie. It had outstanding performances especially by James McAvoy and the action scenes were very suspenseful. I give it 8.5/10.

I love Unbreakable and really like Split, but this movie never rose above, "Eh, it's okay I guess", and the final act was downright horrible IMO.

It's good that you were able to like something out of the film. The other reactions so far sounded about.... Split for this movie.
I actually caught Unbreakable on TV over the weekend which was nice to rewatch all over again for some time ago and that the film still holds up very well as one of Shyamalan's best. I'd also like to catch up with Split again around some point too.
