There are many superhero movies that contain social commentary but, no matter how important that commentary is for the plot, the story's main focus must be the superhero. That’s not the case with THE METEOR MAN, a PSA video that just so happens to include a superhero. The plot is never about the personal journey of JEFFERSON REED (the title character). The message is delivered, but it’s too preachy. The humour isn’t very funny, the visual effects are bad (even when I consider the year) and there are too many plot holes. For example, how come nobody outside the neighborhood knows METEOR MAN's secret identity? A photographer takes a picture of JEFFERSON. I know, I know. In the photo, his face is covered by a green glow. However, the newspaper must've included his name. Not to mention that JEFFERSON's mom tells everyone in the neighborhood about it. 4/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog (in English, in Spanish or in Italian).
