@deblovesbeccy Getting back to the Arrow alternate timeline on Legends, Ive had a thought. Now that weve seen Connor too in the flash-forwards, there is a possibility that the Legends timeline may come true. Here's my reasoning, this year's crossover 'Crisis', as after that happened in the comics, DC was rebooted, so theoretically this could happen with all of the CW superhero shows or some of them. This is where that alternate timeline can come true, also for a chance for Stephen Amell to leave the show

I can't say but I am pretty sure the 'Legends of Tomorrow' episode will remain an alternate timeline but they are just bringing some characters back from that and it will be similar in some ways but different in others. I mean judging what we have seen in the future flashes the future is definitely different than the future we saw in the 'Legends' episode but that doesn't mean some things can't be the same like Diggle's son becoming Conner Hawke and Slade's son becoming the next Deathstroke. I would love to see them bring in Cissie King-Jones as Arrowette 'cause she should exist in the future and maybe I missed it but has the whereabouts of Team Flash been talked about by any of the characters in the future 'cause I find it weird if they haven't been. No the flash team hasnt been mentioned but Im a little behind with Arrow I didn't think so and I find that really odd 'cause why wouldn't they mention Team Flash when Barry and Oliver and most of the others are on good terms and you think they would have tried to help Star City out if they started having problems and then you have absolutely no mention of the 'Legends' or Batwoman who they just introduced in the big crossover episode. Are we supposed to believe they were all killed or there was some big falling out they had with each other?

I still don't think Stephen Amell will leave the show and it is more likely William and Mia will go back to the past to change things and get stuck there.

The new characters will go back in time with the help of the Legend team and meet up with their parents and tell them how bad their future is and they will work together to stop whatever happened to Star City between now and then from happening. Didn't you say Etta was meant to go back in time to warn her parents about the future but Fringe got cancelled so they had to jump ahead to the end? I'm getting Fringe vibes. They will be going to the future next series.

Yeah apparently Arrow has been renewed but it could still be its last season or rebooted after Crisis. As the ratings for both Arrow and Legends are on the decline. Although with Arrow, I suppose its syndication is helping it out?

Originally 'Fringe' was supposed to end very differently and I heard it was still going to end with them facing the Observors in the future but Etta was going to go back in time to warn her parents about the Observors coming and she would have got stuck there for a season until they found a way to help her get back to her own time and then they would have met up with her again in the future. I think your idea with them doing it in 'Arrow' could happen especially since I heard there were photos leaked of Oliver with Mia on the set and that wouldn't be possible unless he goes to the future but I am not sure how they will get there and get back unless Barry is going to stay with them the whole time or they have a whistle for him to take them back when they are finished.

Although with Arrow, I suppose its syndication is helping it out? It was renewed for one last season and now it has been cancelled. I didn't see that coming after it got renewed but at the same time I am not surprised either 'cause it has really gone downhill this season and the ratings were on the decline as you pointed out. I think 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' could be at risk of going next but they won't cancel it until at least next year since they have just cancelled 'Arrow' and would have announced both if they were planning on axing it. I think Oliver is going to die in 'Crisis' now we know it is going to end but I think there will be another big threat him and Team Arrow will have to face before Crisis.

Yeah, the renewed Arrow and then waited before announcing the show is ending. Part of it is the decline in ratings and viewership. Plus it's reached syndication numbers so they don't need to worry about making new episodes in order to make a profit from the show.

Nah I bet it's to do with the cast wanting to move on, if we see Oliver survive and pop up time to time on the other shows then I will eat my words, but from what I have heard Arrow's US numbers pay for production of the show, but they make big money for the show internationally, Arrow is one of the most pirated shows of the year, and if people are willing to pirate lots more are willing to watch normally, so if it's still making money and it's still one of the networks higher watched shows why not keep making new episodes?
When you think the more episodes they make the more they get from syndication, and so if the show is still making money why choose to cancel it? especially when Legends & Supergirl the more expensive shows, and in Supergirls case less internationally popular it seems to be outright more popular in terms of Legends and more popular in key demos in terms of Supergirl.
Seems more plausible imo Amell and co probably want to spread their wings a bit, this could also been a plan for a while with Oliver's death in Crisis planned since before Elseworlds.

Do you think many of them will have big careers after 'Arrow' is over or they will spend the rest of their careers only playing guest roles on other TV Shows like some main stars of other TV Shows have sadly done? I am actually surprised over how poor the careers of some actors have winded up after their TV Shows have ended and these were leading characters in very popular shows that were bringing in a heap of ratings every week and you think they would have been almost guaranteed to get leading roles offered to them by the dozen when their show ended but they faded into the blue and only appear as guest stars in other shows now. I am not sure how some of them will go after 'Arrow' ends 'cause it isn't a hugely popular and talked about show like 'Game of Thrones' has been for example and I think Stephen Amell and Katie Cassidy are likely to move onto other roles but as for the others I think the luckiest ones might end up being the ones who are moved to the other 'Arrowverse' Shows. As we have discussed on here before I could see Black Siren moving to 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' and Diggle and Lyla moving to 'The Flash' and Diggle already has the perfect set up in 'The Flash' now. With it being a show that is more focused on superpowers than 'Arrow' they could give the fans what they want and make Diggle a Green Lantern.

All depends, for a lot of leads if their shows go 5+ seasons they can get themselves exec producer credits which I think earns them extra residuals from their show going forward, so they don't need to work so much so they can be picky with what they do, also you have to think how much of a grind a 22 episode a year show is, you do that long enough it becomes too much and you just need to take a break, and then there's always the whole reputation thing, we don't know just how well someone came across to others during the show, could be that for people on the show an actor was a delight to work with but for the network exec they could have been a pain so they may not be favourable to giving them a new show in the future so easily.
I don't know who I see having bigger careers going forward, I agree Stephen & Katie I see as being fine, Stephen I don't think I have ever heard a bad word about, the opposite actually everyone I have heard talk about working with him has always been immensely complimentary so that sounds good, and Katie's been around long enough and played ball so well with the Arrow higher ups I don't see anyone doubting the choice to work with her as she seems easy to work with, Emily I think will always have an in with her creepy stalker I mean former boss so theres that I guess, as for the others I don't know, I hope David Ramsay gets something more as he is great, he was a reoccurring star in Blue Bloods during S2-4 I think so he's proven his ability to work on bigger networks, hell he held his own in scenes with Tom Selleck so that's impressive in my book, but if he went to Flash I would love it because his reactions to Barry crack me up.

Yeah. You bring up a lot of good points about them and some of them might want to take a break after 'Arrow' finishes like Tom Welling did after he finished with 'Smallville' and I remember hearing he got offered other leading roles and turned them down 'cause he wanted to escape from it all and live a normal life and didn't want to be famous anymore but now he has returned to acting. I could see Stephen actually staying in the 'Arrowverse' after 'Arrow' has ended as a villain in 'The Flash' and I was reading an article a few days ago about Red Death and it is currently being rumoured Red Death is going to be an alternate universe's version of Green Arrow and I don't know how much you know about the character but in the comic books he was an alternate earth's Batman and after all the Bat Family died he went insane and killed all the villains and then he started stealing things from other superheroes to become more powerful including The Flash's powers and that was how Red Death was born. They obviously can't use Bruce Wayne in 'The Flash' so an alternate Oliver Queen is a good idea in my opinion and it would allow Stephen to stay on but as a villain this time.
With 'Supernatural' bringing back all the demons they killed off next season it is possible Katie might return to that show and play Ruby again but I think it is more likely they will use the second actress since she is married to Jared in real life. I like David Ramsay too and I hope he ends up getting something else too. I didn't know he was in 'Blue Bloods' and I saw some episodes of that show and know Tom from 'Magnum P.I.' of course but we will have to watch the rest of the series sometime.

Yeah David plays Mayor Poole from S2-7 I think he's not in every episode obviously but he's in quite a few, more so the earlier season I think, as for Supernatural, I think Ruby will be back but probably not in either of her old bodies, as there isn't a need to do that given she is a demon after all but if it were going to be either of them then yeah I would guess it would be Jared's wife who came back, tough I don't know if they are going to bring back the actors for all the roles as I don't think they did in those final scenes of this season but you never know.
That sounds kind of cool to do that with Oliver to keep Stephan around but again depends on how much he wants to stick around, I still think he must want to leave as his character is the only one really needed to keep Arrow going, lose him lose the show, and Arrow is still a major player for the CW, unless they really just want to get Batwoman out as there new pseudo Batman show, which I would hope they are smarter than to do that.
I think it would be fun though if CW kept Stephen around a little, like if they did that CW Seed thing for an Arrow show but in one of the other universes where we get a much more comic style Green Arrow and you let Stephen keep voicing him, could be a fun thing to do, but dunno if they would want to do something like that.
That or maybe they do try and do a spin off with the future cast, now the "adults" are gone they could bring in some additional characters, would be fun seeing someone try and fix the fucking future in the Arrowverse, also could allow for even more fun and different characters to join that cast, as I like Katherine McNamara and would like for her to stay on in the Arrowverse atleast.

Well I enjoyed the episode that was solely dedicated to a flash-forward. Sad to see Felicity is still alive, although I will admit she has been tolerable this season. Cool to see Mia's upbringing, didnt like the camera work however. The cast have good chemistry and some unexpected twists and turns. What happened to Ollie in the future? Sorry I still have 5/6 episodes more to watch. Mia is a badass btw!

I just remembered something about the 'Red Death' storyline that might play into the next season of 'The Flash' since the latest rumours I have heard is another new superhero is joining next season and that is when Red Death comes to our earth or the main earth in the comic books he tries to murder Barry but fails 'cause Doctor Fate saves Barry and I haven't seen anything officially confirming it but maybe Doctor Fate is joining 'The Flash' next series and it would be a long time coming if he does and I am still surprised Zatanna and Doctor Fate haven't appeared once or twice in the 'Arrowverse' since they were both in 'Smallville' and I haven't seen anything saying Doctor Fate is going to be in the movies yet. Doctor Fate would be a good addition and he is rather different than a lot of the other superheroes they have had and is extremely powerful. If they use him I think they should have him come in as an established superhero from the same earth as Red Death who comes to help Barry and save his earth from suffering the same fate his world did and they could have him come with another superhero they haven't used that was featured in the 'Red Death' storyline.
I don't know about Stephen Amell and if he would be willing to stick around but I like the idea and think it would be the best way to play out the Red Death storyline 'cause the whole thing about Red Death is he was a hero that becomes a villain due to him going mad and that is what makes him dangerous. If they can't get Stephen to play the role they could use an alternate earth version of Barry but they already had an evil version of Barry Allen with Savitar so they would be kinda repeating themselves in a way and I think a lot of fans would want it to be another superhero even if it is one we haven't seen in the show before. I just heard Batwoman is going to be in the next big crossover event and it is going to be a 5 episode crossover this time with 'Arrow', 'The Flash', 'Supergirl', 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' and 'Batwoman' and I am surprised over the addition of 'Batwoman' 'cause a lot of sites were saying 'Batwoman' was going to be based before the last crossover where they got to meet her but maybe by the time they are up to the cross 'Batwoman' will be up to that part. With Oliver dead in the future flashes I suppose you also have the question of where is Batwoman especially if they are going to add all these other Bat Family characters in the future like they are saying and the future flashes in 'Arrow' while okay due to the addition of Katharine McNamara still make no sense since they never turn to the other heroes or mention where they are.
There are a lot of questions that need to be answered in the future flashes like why Thea hasn't returned and they have the whole thing with The Flash disappearing on the headline of the newspaper from the future and I don't know if you noticed it but the date changed to this year at the end of the final episode of this season and we know he is going to survive so why is The Flash and the rest of the team never mentioned in the future flashes on 'Arrow?' Do you think the events of the big crossover are going to change the future and the flash fowards are a vision of what things would have been like if things ended differently in the crisis and after it is over Oliver will still be alive and retire and the Flash and all the other superheroes will appear in the future flashes? I wouldn't be opposed to them changing it and making it that Oliver lives and retires and lets the other superheroes take over 'cause it is too predictable he is going to die but any significant changes would render the future flashes as a waste of time. What are your thoughts?

I have no clue Deb, I mean with a show like Legends that just so arbitrarily fucks with the timeline yet seems ot hold no bearing on the main continuity it's just like eh what? As we know from Flash & Legends the future we see isn't a set one, it's the future of the current timeline the characters inhabit.
If they alter history, which I do not get how with oliver they can do this seeing as they said in the show I think he will die during Crisis, but if they did they could do a cool thing like do a future series and have that be a ensemble show but instead of bumbling idiots like Legends have that be the CW's Justice League, but one with the children or inspired characters of the 1st gen heroes, like so we could have Don & Dawn, Mia, Connor, William as the Felicity/Cisco of the team, Zari or her brother, the new Black Canary, Jon Kent or Lor Zod, a now good Grant Wilson, Tim Drake or Damien as Robin.
I mean the future story didn't really do much for me except introduce a bunch of characters/actors to use, so fuck it why not start over and just use it as a base to set up a Justice League 2040 show or something.
As for Red Death is this also something similar to what happened to one of the Lanterns who then took on a new persona? and a little akin to the Savitar thing where he goes mad partially from being locked away for god knows how long? Thing is it could work to keep Stephen around but not so much like they could do it where the stunt guy as usual plays the character in costume but you just get Stephen to do voice recordings which you use some synthesisers on or whatever and you have Stephen do all of say 2-3 weeks of actual filming as the character, because even if he shot 6 episodes worth of stuff in 2 weeks how TV works he'd have to be paid for each episode he appeared in so it would be a good deal for him, otherwise I dunno maybe turn Red Death into another character, like if they have no other plans for the character of Mia make her Red Death, she's a Mia from even further in the future who tried to carry on her fathers legacy but tragedy and pain drove her mad and what have you, and if she is a Flash villain it could make a lot of sense as she blames Barry for her fathers death as his death is linked to the deal he struck to save Barry, and in her madness she connects all her pain to him?

Good point. There hasn't been much consistency with the timeline in 'Legends of Tomorrow' and with the way they don't take altering history seriously in the show anymore changing the future in 'Arrow' for the ending probably wouldn't have any effect on the other shows. I mean the most confusing thing in the future flashes is the fact they act like the other superheroes don't exist and never mention them at all and the fact Batwoman hasn't even been mentioned makes no sense since they made it take place on the same earth as 'Arrow' but with 'Batwoman' being part of the big crossover later in the year maybe that might be addressed in the episodes. There are still some people saying the earths could be merged and 'Supergirl' will end up on the same earth as 'The Flash' but I am not sure how they could do that without having to completely change the show and for Supergirl to be on the same earth next season wouldn't that mean a lot of people would have to die or their lives would be completely turned upside down all of a sudden moving to another earth where they don't know anybody and then you would probably also have double of all the people who live there living on the same earth and wouldn't that be something that would affect time and the 'Legends' would have to fix it?
The whole idea of merging with 'Supergirl' really confuses me and I am not sure how it could be done and I think it is more likely she will stay on her earth but what are your thoughts on having 'Supergirl' take place on a different earth in the first place and do you think that was a good idea or they should have just had her on the same earth as the other superheroes? I think it was done 'cause of 2 main reasons and one was the show being on a different network to begin with and the other was 'cause if Superman or Supergirl existed on the same earth as 'Arrow' and 'The Flash' it would have been a huge continuity error acting like they didn't exist. I like your idea about a Justice League existing in the 'Arrowverse' and they kinda had that near the end in 'Smallville' with Superman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Cyborg and Oliver brought the heroes together to begin with and they could even have Black Lightning be a part of a team like that for an episode since I am not sure when that is set but I have a feeling Warner Bros would block them using the 'Justice League' name since I think they do plan on making another 'Justice League' movie in the future.
I have said it before but I think they should bring Green Lantern into the 'Arrowverse' and give the character a TV Show since it doesn't look like the 'Green Lantern Corps' movie is happening and they have any plans for the character and with 'Arrow' ending next season a Green Lantern TV Show to go with 'Batwoman' would most likely get a lot of fans watching but they would need to get better writers for it than the ones who are writing 'Arrow' at the moment. Yeah. Red Death could be Mia and that would be a way to keep Kathryn in the 'Arrowverse' and same sites I have been reading are saying the actress is staying around after 'Arrow' is finished and the showrunners have plans for her and that could be it or they might try and do something similar to what you described with a 'Justice League.' She still hasn't got a superhero name yet and since Speedy is already taken I have a feel she will become Arrowette.

The way it worked in the comics was that, after Barry died saving the last 5 earths in the multiverse, the heroes learned the Anti-monitor was traveling back to the beginning of time to rewrite history to his liking. At the time in the comics, the only point in time when history could be re-written was at the dawn of time. The heroes followed the Anti-Monitor to the dawn of time and had a battle with the Anti-Monitor. I forget how it climaxed, but cut to Superman from Earth-2 (the very first, original comic book Superman) waking up at the Daily Planet - confused, because his newspaper is the Daily Star, where he's editor. He runs into Superman from Earth-1 and they concluded that after the fight they somehow got transported back to the present and Superman-2 ended up on Earth-1. So they Find Jay Garrick and Wally West - Jay being from Earth 2 also - and they try to use the cosmic treadmill to access Earth-2, as they have in the past; only there's nothing there, just a void and Superman-2 feels like it's calling to him. They eventually learn that whatever happened at the dawn of time had the effect of resulting in only one timeline originating from that point, rather than a multiverse of infinite timelines; and there is now only one earth with a single merged history. Jay notes how people from Earth 1 now him and say he's been a hero on this earth for years; and others have similar accounts. Only those who traveled back to the dawn of time remember things as they were.

I still haven't read the 'Crisis On Infinite Earths' graphic novel but I plan on reading it sometime before they have the crossover episode and I hear one of the characters that has already appeared in the 'Arrowverse' was meant to be the Monitor's assistant in the comic books and she turned on him and killed him but people are saying it is unlikely they will bring her back for it 'cause the way they used her last time wouldn't make sense having her be with the Monitor now. How powerful is the Anti-Monitor supposed to be 'cause I have read some of the big comic book events where the superheroes faced Impreriex and the Spectre (when he went bad) and they were extremely powerful and it wasn't easy for the heroes to defeat them and as much as I would like to see the Spectre as a superhero on screen I wouldn't mind seeing a movie or show use him as evil 'cause he has the power of a God. Also why does Anti-Monitor not look human like the Monitor if they are brothers? Does he have a human form and they just have him wearing a costume in the comic books or is the Monitor choosing to appear as a human and looks more like his brother?
