I'm reading a great James Patterson book on Aaron Hernandez. Man, this guy was a total douche. And stupid on top. Had the world at his feet but being a thug was just too important to him. Does it mention the guys he killed when he was playing college football at Florida and Urban Meyer covering it up?

The fact the Pats drafted this guy is even more amazing to me. These teams are aware of these idiots' pasts yet they still bring them aboard because winning is everything. In this particular case I think the Pats ended up looking really stupid because they knew about this guy.

I would think anyone interested in serial killers or psychopaths would find Hernandez intriguing. I'm going to check this out through my online library service. As long as a library in Georgia has it I can get it sent to the library 10 miles from my house. I like my odds. I wonder if Tebow had let Hernandez get booted from the Gators would he have killed less people or more people? Wealthy people that kill are even creepier than your garden variety murderer for some reason. Robert Durst for example.

It's interesting the different paths that Hernandez could have taken. But he seriously had a screw loose. What a waste of talent.

In my curiosity over the Patterson book about Aaron Hernandez I forgot to mention I'm currently reading Holy Ghost by John Sandford. It's a Virgil Flowers novel and my first time reading this character. I'm enjoying it so far.

Have you ever read βThe Great Gameβ, by Peter Hopkirk? Itβs a book about Britain and Russiaβs struggle for dominance in Central Asia for the past 3 centuries or so. Very good book about the ambitions of empires. It was indeed, while not a light read, I did finish it fairly quickly. As always with books like this, I fantasise about forcing our politicians to read it, and learn from it. But that will never happen. I hadn't heard of Peter Hopkirk until now, but that certainly does look like something I would enjoy, so I've just ordered it from my library. Which also has several more of his books. Thanks for the tip! I would also suggest 'Autumn in the Heavenly Kingdom: China, the West, and the Taiping Rebellion' by Stephen Platt. Fascinating history about a deadly rebellion in the end days of imperial China.
