Along with the renewal was, presumably, some budget tightening so according to the Twittersphere, the following people have recently been let go:
Kyle Lowder Nadia Bjorlin Olivia Rose Keegan Lucas Adams Brandon Barash (NuStefan who hasn't started airing yet) Greg Rikaart
Nadia's really the only significant one here, and I think that's a big shame, particularly since they're finally putting her in Brady's orbit again. How hard is it to pair this girl with Brady or Philip? Why is it so difficult for them to know what to do with her?

God damnit... Yeah, Nadia annoys me mainly because after all this time dicking around with Chloe and Brady's separate relationships, they finally look to be maybe reuniting. The rest I really don't care about; especially since I'm not really watching at the moment. It's just annoying how malleable relationships have become on this show; they don't invest any value in the stories anymore - not that they have in a long time. The worst part is how there can never be any lasting stability with any couples that stay on screen, because they don't know how to create conflict with constantly break couples up and making them do stupid shit; and when they manage to find a good pairing they end up leaving, like Chad and Abby.

That's a shame about Nadia. They really haven't been using her well since she returned.
It sucks that the others lost their jobs, but I can't say I'll miss any of them.

Well that sucks. Why couldn't Sarah be one of the ones to go?
I really don't understand how they can't find a woman for Brady, it makes no sense. Chloe is just going to leave when they are getting closer? Wow.

Perhaps Chloe will reunite with Lucas? However, I didn’t find them interesting together at all. I am disappointed because I was really enjoying seeing Chloe and Brady together again. Oh well!
I’m also sorry to hear about Brandon Barash as I was looking forward to seeing how he would be as Stefan. I guess we’re losing the entire DiMera family. Except I also hearing that Stacy Haiduk is returning as Kristin. Not thrilled about that either.
I’m just a little puzzled that all the ones let go are part of the younger set. I thought that the demographics of the audience was supposed to target the 18-34 year olds? Most of the remaining characters are several years older.

Yeah, it's definitely a big blow to the younger generation, especially since we're already losing Chad and Abby first. Of the six departing, the average age is 33. Greg Rikaart is the only one over 40, and he's barely over 40. Now, don't get me wrong, losing Chad and Abby (plus the TC drama) always made it seem like Stefan's time would be limited. And Leo doesn't feel like a character meant to stick around long-term. And Tripp and Claire's departures make sense based on how they're used. Really, my only real gripe is Chloe.
This leaves 10 contract members under 40 and 15 over 40 (if we count Stacy Haiduk). This dichotomy gets bigger when you include recurrers which feature the likes of John Aniston, the Hayeses, Wally and Judi.
Maybe they intend to load up on an all new set of teens? I dunno.

Huh, I didn't even notice Olivia (Claire's) name; and didn't know the name of the actor who plays Trip. Yeah, that seems like a blow to the show too. I can't say from what I've read about their stories that they've been used all that effectively, but still, the show's had a horrible track record cultivate new generations (or new characters in general). I liked Trip, for the most part, but I think it was more the actor than anything; my first thought the very first time I saw him on the show and playing opposite Stephen was that he should have been Joey, rather than contriving a child (in his 20s) with Ava. I feel bad for Olivia losing her job, but I never cared for her as Claire; and more so hated that they aged Shawn and Belle's daughter so much. It's one instance I'd support them de-aging a character, because that was a huge mistake. The fact they didn't develop her character well either didn't help. Did she ever stop randomly breaking into song or being concerned about how many followers she had?

Well based on the promo for this week I think we can see why Tripp is one of the ones to go...
