Just throwing this out there since I won’t be the one to do it.
Someone should start a streaming service for Oscar winning films. They could list them by categories like Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress...etc. And they should attempt to include them all from the first Oscar winning film to the present.
I think there might be a market for that.

interesting idea. but hard to get the rights to those movies, most of these have sold all digital rights by the time they are nominated for an oscar, let alone win it. and the cost of it after it wins i can imagine would be pretty steep, unless you are talking a few years later. wanna tell me more how you imagine your idea working…?

Well, many of the films that have won Oscars in the past are not that popular anymore. Some may even have expired copyrights. For instance, I don’t think it would be that expensive to put “Wings” (the first film to win an Academy Award for Best Picture) on a streaming service. I would separate them by the category of the highest Academy Award they received. For instance, if the highest Oscsr they recieved was Best Picture, put it in the Best Picture section. If the highest Oscar was Best Actor, put it in the Best Actor section. Some may be too expensive to put because of how recent they came out. But as time goes by and their hype dwindles, they can be placed there.

You know what would really be great? A store where you could go and rent physical copies of any movie you wanted. And you'd get them for a few days, maybe a week. That way you could pay for only what you wanted, when you wanted it instead of a monthly fee for a bunch of crap you didn't want.
Brilliant, no?
