This movie is going to rock. Taika is a fantastic director who brings this unique energy to his films. I feel like that energy will work for a character like Thor. The cast is phenomenal too. This is definitely my most anticipated CBM of the year.

The title card looks like an arcade game from the '80s. And that's actually pretty cool.

A lot of crazy stuff could go down here too. What is the status of Asgard at the end? What does Odin do? What is Dr. Strange's roll? Does Hela stand in for the Death Thanos courts? Does she possess the soul stone already? Will the Grandmaster be linked to Ego and the Collector as Elders of the Universe? Does Thanos arrive to collect the Tesseract?

I personally can't wait for this one, and it might be the one I'm looking forward to most before Infinity War
First, I truly hope it will be a great payoff for the Thor character.
But Second, there could be some massive massive huge impacts on Infinity War. What if Hela is Death? What if she has the Soul Stone? Will they bring Odin back? Will Asgard survive? Will Thanos show up?
And lastly, Thor vs Hulk in the area! It's awesome to get a Thor vs Hulk rematch and this could absolutely kill it.
And why is Banner in space anyway? I can't wait to find out!!!

Yeah this film is 3rd for me in regards to excitement behind GOTGv2 and Homecoming. I wasn't thrilled to hear that Hulk was going to be in this film as I've never really cared much for him so I'm hoping he's just briefly in the Gladiator pit fight and then that be it. Give us a brief explanation as to how he got there somewhere and let the fight just be an epic action sequence in the film and be done with it. I really want this film to fully focus on Thor and I'm nervous having Hulk in it will take that focus away.
Also with Portman and Dennings not in this film I had hopes that we wouldn't spend most of the film on Earth. The other worlds have gone unexplored and I want to see them. Stop making everything with Thor happen on Earth. The shots of Thor and Loki on Earth searching for Odin means that we're once again seeing Thor on Earth. Just like the Hulk thing I REALLY hope that stuff is very brief.
In regards to the soul stone I think that Heimdall has it and that he dies and Hela gets possession of it. This being Ragnarok and all some of these characters have to die. Prime candidates for me are Heimdall and Odin.
Also from what I've heard there are casting rumors of Eva Green playing Death and that Hela is not a substitute. I think it would of made sense to just use Hela in that role but hopefully Hela is a compelling villain because that's what the MCU has lacked outside of Loki.
Also who do you all think Sam Neill is playing? A lot of speculation on him being the voice of Surtur but I've sadly seen nothing to suggest that character is in this film.

This film has so many elements in it that it could turn out to be one of the most epic Marvel movies or one of the most disastrous. Obviously, I'm hoping this turns out great. Ironman has already had 1 great film. Cap has had 2. Thor has had no great films yet and seriously needs one. And I sincerely hope that Thor's battle prowess is properly displayed in this movie. Thor seems to have been getting the short end of the stick in most Marvel movies. We haven't seen him look like a total badass since he wiped out those gang of Frost Giants way back in his first movie.

Hopefully this film ends up being better than the previous Thor film.

Thor needs a better fight choreographer and a better fighting style. Just look at how big a difference Captain America's fighting style made between CATFA/Avengers and WS/Civil War. He got such a huge upgrade and he went from lame to badass just like that. Thor needs the same upgrade.

This should be the best Thor movie yet. I liked the others fine but this needs to be a full blown epic.

I will not watch this. The casting is wrong and Thor with a buzz cut is stupid.

I am pretty much burned out on Marvel movies however, I think the Thor story line has the most potential in the series (even though I never read the comic). Hemsworth is a decent casting choice (though there are probably better out there), but my choice for Loki would have been David Thewlis. The inclusion of Goldblum and others has me intrigued (I don't like Ruffalo as Banner so I hope they keep him Hulk mode for most of it).
The multi-racial Asgard is really SJW BS though. I tolerated Heimdall's casting but I see they got Ken Watanabe as an Asgard nobleman and an Indian for another.
Disney better stick some Irish and Norwegian samurai in that live action Mulan or they are a bunch of racists.

You know what worries me about this movie? It's not the haircurt or the casting choices (though I'm still pissed that they didn't cast a tall, strong, blonde nordic-looking woman for Valkyrie). I'm worried about those damn bright colors. I sure hope it looks better once CGI has been properly applied because right now it just looks cartoony. I mean, it's freaking RAGNAROK and you make your color scheme bright blue, red, green and yellow??

Apparently the film's plot released. At least according to reddit.
Taken from a reddit post:
"When we last saw Thor, he was flying off to figure out who was manipulating the Avengers at the end of Age of Ultron. Eventually, he hears rumblings of trouble in Asgard: His evil brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), has been impersonating their missing father, Odin (Anthony Hopkins). Loki’s rather lax governing leads to the reemergence of an imprisoned Hela (Cate Blanchett). Thor’s initial encounter with Hela gets him blasted to Sakaar, a barbaric planet ruled by the charming but nefarious Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), a tough, hard-drinking warrior hiding out on Sakaar brings the god to the Grandmaster. “Thor is a bit of a fanboy for the Valkyrie, the elite women warriors,” Hemsworth says. Thor is then forced into becoming a gladiator, which leads to his haircut and the loss of his trusty hammer. (His replacement weapons include a pair of swords seen on EW’s cover.)
Sakaar’s most popular and successful gladiator? Bruce Banner, a.k.a. the Hulk. Comics fans will recognize this plotline as part of the popular Planet Hulk series. “He’s much more of a character than the green rage machine you’ve seen in the Avengers movies,” Ruffalo says of this new Hulk. “He’s got a swagger. He’s like a god.”
Once Thor and Hulk unite, Ragnarok becomes a sort of road-trip film, with director Taika Waititi drawing inspiration from movies like 48 HRS., Withnail and I, and even Planes, Trains and Automobiles. The director particularly wanted to show off Hemsworth’s comedic abilities, only recently exploited in films like Vacation and Ghostbusters. “He’s so good and underutilized in that department,” Waititi says. “He’s legitimately one of the funniest things in this film.”
Fans will also see some familiar faces, like Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange. The New York-based sorcerer met with Thor in the post-credits epilogue of Doctor Strange, and he will help the Asgardian locate Odin. Teases Feige, “There’s not a whole lot that takes place on Earth in this film, and that’s one of the things that does.”
The events of Ragnarok will also help set up Marvel’s biggest Phase 3 installment, Avengers: Infinity War, the first half of which is due in May 2018. But Waititi is adamant that his film will not only stand on its own, it will reinvent the franchise. “A lot of what we’re doing with the film is, in a way, kind of dismantling and destroying the old idea and rebuilding it in a new way that’s fresh,” he says. “Everyone’s got a slightly new take on their characters, so in that way, it feels like [this is] the first Thor.” Just with a little less hair."

Another thing that worries me is how Waitit (and even Hiddleston) keep mentioning how this will be the funniest Thor yet. I mean, I appreciate the humor in the MCU movies but I was kinda hoping they'd focus on making Thor more of a badass in this movie like they did for Cap in TWS and to have a movie that provides more emotional impact than his last 2. Instead they seem to be focusing on making Thor funnier. Not exactly sure that's the right move. It would have made sense if this was the 2nd movie, but if this is the last of the trilogy you want to make a lasting impact. And Thor being the funniest Avenger probably isn't the lasting impression you want to make.

Thor's hair is cut, Thor doesn't have his hammer, The casting is wrong (SJW), whoever gave this movie the green light should be fired.
I hope this fails worse than the Fantastic Four movie.
